I grew up in the mountains of Western Virginia, winter days sometimes never got out of low teens, it was cold but not terrible. But, we didn't have any wind, so no wind chill. As you said the wind is the game changer. Out temps haven't been bad, just the average 15-25 mph N/NE/NW winds. Also, I'm older now and have lived here 40 years, I just don't like cold weather. I'm a short sleeve/flip flops guy!!

 

Very detailed report, haven't seen anyone track their exact weight and distribution before, but very interesting. Excellent write up describing your mods so far, very informative.

 

If you're changing it, use a coupler and pull it past the fuel tank.

It’s not even a trailer queen, it’s a Total garage queen. It’s winter it might get cold out there.

 

Idk if that grommet photo is the finished product or not, but you might want to drill a hole in the center of the grommet and run it through that way. It might chaff or leak on the edge like that.

 

Bought the Course Motorsports phone holder. Looked like a great design, mounts securely behind the driver side upper radio mount.

Loved it…….until I drove the truck. The metal bracket or plate seems to be spring steel. The highway seams and bumps make the phone oscillate. It’s the most annoying mount I’ve ever tried.

Contacted Course for a return. Will see if they stand by their claims.

So, reinstalled the TrackForm mount in the HCAC vent left of the radio……super solid mount.

 

Bought some black replacement letters for the grill and wanted to give it that old school flavor by adding white vinyl overlays. These have a nice gloss to them, nice quality.

 

Good job! I'm in Brandon FL and can lend the special tools for ECGS bushing replacement, if you ever decide on that task.

 

Put some Caliraised step edition rock sliders w / kickout. Install was pretty simple and took about an hour per side.

My favorite mounts are ram mounts. Yes they aren’t one handed mounts but they work really well on and off-road

 

Where did you get your replacement letters from? I’ve got a rock chip on one of mine that has been bugging me.

 

Just installed the Redarc Tow Pro Elite on my 2020 OR. Install was fairly simple with only one hiccup, I dropped the ground wire bolt into the small cavity in the fender where the sunroof drain runs. It was a huge PITA to get out. I poked around blindly with my grabber for about 10min till I was able to snag it. Other than that it only took about 20min total.
I love the fact I don’t have the unit hanging down for my knees to bang into. The adjustment dial looks right at home in the acc. button blank. Couldn’t be happier with it.
