That must have been the term. It's been a little over 20 years since that happened, but I still remember the feeling when that ice coffee water went above my heart level.

Oil drilling platform workers go through regular drills to know how to handle that because it is not what we human-type beings are designed for. Just the thought of a cold shower because a hot-water tank is not working well is not very unpleasant.

I keep heat and ac on foot/defrost option at all times and the dual climate control works great. My wife’s Subaru does not have dual climate control and I for sure notice it when we’re driving it together.

Subi has heated seats but I honestly
would pick the dual climate control over them any day if it came down to choice. I personally am not the biggest fan of heated seats, especially once the heat is cranking in the cab. Had them in plenty vehicles but always kinda feels like I pissed my pants and just said f it and kept driving around lol

I do have it but IMHO it’s kind of useless in such a small interior.

Well ... maybe not COMPLETELY useless. Granted, the windows will still be cold in 20 degree weather even if the air helps the occupants. But the contact points being different sides can help for hands/feet. Just do not expect miracles.

Works great. Wife is always cold, so I let her crank her side up and I turn mine down to keep from sweating on long drives.
Reasonable expectations are a must. It’s not going to be a 10 degree difference, but in terms of comfort, dual zone works much better than just closing the vents

Basic Survival Training is required for any offshore oil workers required to travel offshore via helicopter. Lots of people dread it and a refresher is required every two years just in case you forgot what it is like to be rotated upside down underwater while strapped in a seat, then you have to undo your seatbelt while upside down and exit through a small window to the surface.

My only complaint, or should I say nitpick, is why does the Auto setting function only with the floor vents. I too always have the mode set to floor and defrost so it kinda bugs me that on Auto it locks onto floor only. Got too used to driving my wife's CX-50.

Same here. She always has her side set 3 degrees higher the few times she's driven with me.

I’d have to check but I think mine does turn on defrost automatically when temps are super low, like 20F or below. For just defrosting the window in the morning I switch to defrost only for a few minutes and then going back to auto is enough to keep things warm and windows clear since the AC is also on at that point.

Yeah, its sole purpose it seems is to automatically kick the defrost vents on when it gets below a certain temperature. Would still like it to work when you've got floor and dash vents selected but when Auto is selected it's floor vents only until the temp is cold enough to kick on the defrost vents too. Pretty much a nonissue. Just odd. I really don't mess with any settings, always straight up defrost and floor year round for me. It's when I chauffeur our daughter, with her incessant need for switching it to dash vents, that makes me wish Auto would work with the floor and dash vents.

Not to get away from the topic (sorry) but the split zone does keep the wife's feet as warm as she likes. Doesn't affect the cabin space that I've noticed.
