Looks like you have plenty of driveway space to park a truck.

2023 was when Ford cut anything above XLT on Super Cab, I can't recall all Lariat options being available on Super Cab never seen the dual LED projector lamps on a Lariat SuperCab. 24+ XL and XLT get the same LED reflector headlights standard. You need to go Lariat or above to get the projector LED with signature LED DRL.

There's many a parking spot a dually won't fit because it's too wide.

You are correct, those that need to own a dually don't worry to much about such things....it comes with the territory. Now gates that are too narrow for a dually to go thru...those should be against the law...lol

In AZ we have very high Summer temps and blazing sun, pack rats that will eat wires and hoses, and enough rain/monsoon that I consider garaging my vehicles a necessity. They stay so much cleaner, cooler/warmer, and the paint/interior/rubber lasts much longer. If you are thinking about buying a new Tacoma (or other truck) it's because you want something new. Garaging your truck will keep it looking/feeling/driving new much longer. For most people spending 50K+ for a truck is a significant expense, shouldn't you protect it?

I don't need a big truck. If the garage was bigger, would I be tempted to buy a bigger truck I don't need? Possibly, but I don't follow the logic that bigger is better.

I won't spend 50 K for a Tacoma....I agree, if you can protect it go for it...but it is not the be all end all metric that I use for which truck I select to own, its kind of a bonus item, you know get it home and go...what do ya know....It fits in the garage. I understand some people prioritize things a little differently and have different levels of comfort they require.

If I feel the need to further protect a vehicle a lean to or pole barn will do the job as well. Most of my trucks don't hang around for more than 10 years so it's never really been a concern as to where it is parked. The tractors on the other hand, usually find a spot in the garage..lol

I think for utility use in the 1/2 ton department Ford has the best set up going as far as maximizing use, interior usable space, etc with the F150. And just looking at the Ranger, it looks like some of that transferred over to that model as well.

It’s a mass produced truck. It can live outside. It’s not a Ferrari.

Love the Tacoma but the temptation for the Colorado (which we just got a new one), or even the Canyon - I mean an AT4 Canyon built out with most of the preferred options is less than an OR with the same options.

We had a guy bring pretty much this exact one by the shop a few weeks ago and it is a really nice truck. Very comfortable. I didn't like the headlight/grille arrangement at first but it's grown on me.

A used vehicle with some years and miles on it sure, but a brand new 2024 truck that cost upwards of 40k? Why wouldn’t you want to garage it if you have the space?

Fitting in the garage is a must for me because my days of scraping ice and snow off my car are over. And I couldn't care less what any of you think.

I’m glad Toyota actually put effort in to differentiate the TH and Pro from the other models, even if those feature mentioned aren’t easily marketable. On the second and third gen Pro they just added some nicer shocks and other easily attainable bolt on accessories. It really was hard to justify the added added expense when you could just add some aftermarket accessories to a trd off-road and you’d get the same results for less $$$.

Having a truck built from the factory to handle the lift and extra abuse is very appealing. Stronger steering box and stronger CV axles would be a feature that’s very hard to replicate in the aftermarket and very welcome for those who actually off-road. Larger rear and front axles are another awesome feature not enough people are talking about. Larger more powerful brakes with SS brake lines? Yes please, people have been swapping tundra brakes kits into Tacoma’s for a reason, should be great for heavier loads and steep grades off-road, and SS lines have a much more responsive feel with better modulation. Additional cross member is also a nice edition. These are the bones of the vehicle. We can argue all day about features, pricing, subjective looks etc, but at the end of the day these are the things that actuality matter. The 4g is clearly riding on a more robust platform which should bode well for longevity and durability.

We still need to see the prices but I’m personally leaning towards a trail hunter. It has almost all of the upgrades I added to my SR5 to make it capable right from the factory. Full steel skids, sliders, OME lift, ARB rear steel bumper. And it looks killer. Have to thank the competition for lighting a fire under Toyotas ass on the redesign.
