What did they charge to do it? I assume they did the alignment after as well…

 

They said you actually don’t need an alignment afterwards (I asked the same question as you) but I was having one done anyway because I had done a decent amount of trail riding since my last alignment.

I think it was around $500 for parts and labor (mostly labor). They aren’t cheap lol

 

Cuse it takes 1-2 hours to pop out the cv axle

 

I don’t mind if they aren’t cheap, to an extent… just as long as it’s done right!! I will definitely be needing an alignment. I’m putting the new wheels and tires on, plus going to have to crank-up the Eibach’s a little more in the front. Currently I’m sitting at their settings which I believe is 1.25” lift in front… I’m going to shoot for another inch. Want to make sure I clear as much of the 33’s as possible!!

 

I still need to find out about my TPMS fitment… somewhere I read that the OEM sensors will not work with the Enkei RPT1’s I have going on.

 

Yeah I watched some videos on how to do it and I was 100% confident I would break something far more expensive than $500 if I tried it myself

 

I was putting my lift on when I did it… even managed to change it without disconnecting the cv from the wheel hub…

I’m probably a little over confident in my skills from working on helicopters.

 

Hahahah yeah i have the opposite amount of skill. I’m not ashamed to admit that i enjoy picking out the parts for my truck and building it exactly how I want, and I looove driving it but i just am not mechanically inclined.

I’m certainly no Toyota Master Tech… but I’m fairly confident in my abilities. I did everything else to my truck, including suspension and UCA’s with ease… this is just one of those times I know if I mess up, it’s going to be costly!! And at least if a shop messes up, it’s covered.

I wonder if those bushings gets replaced with a TRD Lift?

That's the most lift I plan on getting anyway, to fit 285/70/R17s or 275/70R17s.

 

that’s a good question, I would think no because East Coast gear supply is its own company.

 

Just for giggles...it's about $1400 and does not include bushings.

 

Wow. I think all in, including parts and labor, I paid about $1000 for my Bilstein 5100s after they were installed.

 

Outa curiosity… why the Factory lift? There are many others out there and notably better lifts for that price.

 

I'm concerned about my warranty and TSS.

 

No warranty is voided with aftermarket suspension… unless it’s a suspension warranty claim. Which would be non existent since the OEM parts are no-longer in use. But you can always simply call your local Toyota service center and speak with the manager to confirm. And TSS should not have any self-calibrations issues unless you did a 4” or more lift. And even then, Toyota service can flash and calibrate it for you for the height difference. Just food for thought before you invest in a seemingly overpriced kit for what you’re getting. But I don’t knock anyone for making their build and using the parts they so desire… that’s what makes these trucks unique. So many variations available, they are all different and express our individual needs and personalities.

Ordered the Dongar adapter and will forego the parking mode. Maybe I can find a wire in the overhead I could tap into.

I do have the hardwire kit but using that will keep the fuses exposed. Not that anything would happen, but I’d prefer for the cover to stay on there.

Got it done, folks. While I'm still living in MD until the end of the month, I own (well, started a mortgage for) a house in PA. Eager to get the move over, settle in, and see what's what.
