I’ve traded in 2 cars/suvs in the last 12 months with less than 4,500 miles driving because they ended up not working out for my day to day.

Heck I also traded in 18months ago a $60k truck that we drove for 11,000 in 17 months of ownership; sometimes you just have a want or need and eventually you find what works. I’m happy to be where I am now but wish I made better decisions in 2021…

Probably a managers demo, they can sell it for any price they want after a few months of ownership.

Wasn't me! I didn't know you could get manual in anything but an access cab. I saw that ad last week. Maybe for some weird reason they really wanted one of the new 4th gens... can't imagine why though!

They can sell for any price from day one. Was called MSRP and now Toyota calls it SRP. Due to dealers selling above MSRP during Covid. Thats why they removed the M from MSRP. I work for Toyota.

so back when I sold cars our dealer demonstrators were usually really nicely equipped, and we drove them, or occasionally put customers in them while in service and often at 5k went back to the lot. heck in 2007 got my Honda accord demo after I was going to turn it back in.

Oh my Gentle Jesus, that is an expensive Taco. Surprises me every time I see an asking price like this, you'd think I'd get used to it after awhile.

I'd be thinking, what else could I buy for 70 grand.

Could be a loaner/demo...maybe. I used to sell Hyundais and they'd do the same thing; use the fully loaded models as loaners or demos until they hit 5K then put them in the showroom or in a prominent spot. The combination of being in the showroom and being one of the top of the line trim levels means they usually sell quick...surprisingly. I personally don't think I'd ever pay a new car price for something with over 5,000 (almost certainly hard and abusive) miles on it, especially a MT. Although sadly there's not much difference between new car prices and used car prices these days depending on what you're looking at.

Only thing that kinda makes me think it may not be a loaner/demo is that MT. Seems unwise to me to have a MT loaner; that's just asking for trouble.

Being a Manual Transmission I would think there would be zero interest in anyone from the dealership interested in this as a loaner, demo, managers special or the like. I would really suspect that someone purchased this and had a change of heart. If it was an auto, I could see it being a multitude of things that transpired before it was put up for sale with 5K kms. IMO.

It sure does look unbelievably nice and fresh. And about 12k above what it was in 2020.
