Not sure if HF sells these VersaHaul racks, but it looks like you can find some online:

The 1UP RakAttach (size large) with the Hollywood Rack Sport Rider combo is on. Gotta test it out on the freeway and on the trails. Departure angle is gonna suck; so, I gotta practice on some garage driveway ramps to see what the new setup can handle. At least I got more clearance in the back now so that I can mount the emtb onto the nearest tray to the tailgate without the handle bar jamming into the rtt or bedrack.

I recently completed my eBike build. I converted my custom build 2003’ish Nashbar frame mtn bike to a mid drive. My motor is a 52-vokt 1K watt BBHSD, but I’m starting off with a 48-volt battery, I got a UPP 19 mah with LG cells. Adding a 42T chainring and Eggrider display, among other little things, my conversion came in to about $1200. The bike weight is just under 60 lbs. I can hit 30 mph unassisted and got 57 miles on my first battery charge. Not bad considering I went full throttle several times and reside in a hilly area. Once I start riding conservatively, I expect my battery range to go past 70 miles, maybe 80.

That's pretty respectable range for mostly motor on knobs. I'd still like to have a throttled build - maybe a fatbike or sommat to blast through snow and sand, but the last time I looked, it was really hard to get parts - especially batteries.

The trikes are interesting. Where is the motor located?

My build was very similar, 52V 20AH Batt, 1500W BBSHD, Eggrider display, Lekke 40T chain ring and wide ratio rear cassette. course it's got a throttle and suspension seat post. There's allot of sand around here and a typical bike just sinks into it, I went with a fat tire bike to be able to ride out in the desert here which it does well.

It works pretty well, does about 32mph and has a range I've never come close to using, I could if I felt like doing a 50mi bike ride which I don't. It doesn't compare to the high end bikes except in speed and range. Handling is crude as you'd expect but it will climb a very steep incline to the point where the back wheel spins or the bike loops out.

Very cool mid drive set up. I bet those trikes where pricey. But they do look super comfy and fun.

Unfortunately, yes they are pricey but, we don’t have a lot of hobbies so……why not; right? :)

Very nice. What range is your rear cassette? Mine is 11-32 8 speed, but I have a 11-42 I will put in after a little more usage with the current setup. I cheaped on the chain ring, I got one off aliexpress with the 20mm offset and it is holding up well. I do love that Eggrider.
I recently took it on my first offroad ride on a very steep and rutted fireroad. With two miles to go on the way back my left side crank fell off the bike. I come to find out this is a known issue with the BBSHD - the crankarm bolt gets loose and can come off. I installed a new bolt with gobs of blue threadlocker. If it happens again, I will use red locker.

rotated tires changed oil threw out the old air freshener.
About three years ago I put a Bafang HD 48V on my GT Richter 8. It's great in every way I need a bike. Typical range between recharge is 100mi. and it's uphill both ways no matter which way I go ;-) I pedal A LOT!. Seldom use pedal assist past 1/2 power.

I carry the crank bolt allen key in the saddle bags! ;-)

This year I did put on a "wide ratio" casset Don't recall the tooth count, But one tooth up and one tooth down from the original (7 speed)

    I'm using a 11/46 cassette
    https://boxcomponents.com/products/box-three-p9-wide-multi-shift-groupset

That big of a 1st gear requires a long arm derailleur which is part of their kit. The friction clutch on their derailleur also puts allot more pressure on the chain tension. Before that if I was hauling ass in some rough stuff it'd sometimes throw the chain from the derailleur flopping up and down.

What I kinda discovered was having a really strong gear setup and good chain made it pretty much bulletproof. Before that i'd break stuff if I didn't watch it. For me the e-bike is a great way for an old guy like me to hit some trails that I'm not allowed to on my dirtbike and pedalling is optional, I like to say I rest on the uphills.

The bike riding near my home is all desert so fat tires are mandatory, anything narrower just sinks in the sand.

Have a folding style ebike. 20x4 tires. Super fun, easy to put away. Been thinking of ways to have an extended battery

Car battery died. Took my ebike. Rode it, more like just breezed, to local auto parts for a replacement.

Haven't been here for a while, but I ended up sending it back because it was a lemon.

But for the time I did have it, I learned that I cannot balance on a two-wheeler the way I could when I was younger. #OldAgeSux

So I went out and got this one. Last month I did a 150-mile ride from Pittsburgh PA to Cumberland MD on the Great Allegheny Passage rail rail; four days and three nights.

Here it is, outfitted for the trip.
