Actually a little over 3 tons of reasons… I had one as well, 96 P pump. Modified turbo, 370 injectors, custom plate, governor spring kit, gutted afc. 1000ft-lbs of fun. Just couldn’t keep a transmission in it. Last straw was my “built” transmission sheared the input shaft. I guess power braking it until it went into overdrive took its toll but leaving more than 500ft of posi stripes was entertaining.

Edit: the neighbor told me I was their alarm clock when I’d go to work in the morning. 4” straight pipe…

    Nice!!

Mine was a 2001 with the "1st generation" of the 24 valve engine. I had the largest injectors available at the time (I did all my mods between 2001 - 2003) - Diesel Dynamics Stage 3, one step up larger turbo - Holset HX40, a fueling/timing control box - Edge Products, and then to hold the power, I had a Con Fe clutch from South Bend Clutch. I also had a Jardine 4" exhaust. I got it up to 439 HP and 830 #'s of TQ, that was basically all the aftermarket technology could get you at that time. By the 2010 time frame, if you wanted to drop the $$$$$$, there were places that could take that engine much farther, but I was content with what I had.

There were guys/independent shops back then that for the right $$$, would drop a 12 valve head and P pump onto the 24 valve block, and then with a set of custom twin turbos you could get insane power, but that was way to much investment (time and $) for me. We had a few top aftermarket diesel performance guys/shops in the SF Bay Area then, and they would come up to Sacramento to drag race at the Sacramento Raceway, a few times a year. I raced my truck for shits and giggles, but I had a massive aluminum front bumper, and a big tool box in the best with tools and spare parts. I weighed it once at the drag strip, just for giggles. It was 7700#'s with me standing on the ground and maybe a half a tank of fuel.

Chris, You’ve answered the last question, but we’re still waiting on the answers for the rest of the test questions on page one…:boink:

Thank you, and congrats on finding your locomotive! I know nothing about them but they are cool to watch. We need pics :worthless:

That looks more like a resonator than a muffler for anything!

We had a club near by that pooled money and rented a multi bay garage. It started out as strictly Dodge and then to all of the big three. Some of the members drop serious coin on their trucks. I know of at least one 24V that was converted to a Piers Diesel Research P Pump and another a triple turbos. A bunch were twins. Those guys were young and single. The married ones couldn’t play like that

Evening friends :hattip:, beautiful weather today. Another trip to the dentist today, new crown on my front tooth. I hate needles, that said I really like my current dentist. Our local Health Department has a great dental practice. They get young dentists out of med school for a 5 year commitment,in return they get a large portion of their student debt paid. The dentist I have now is so polite and professional, I will miss her. So a month with a temp, no Carmel apples:D

I am supposed to get 2 root canals, then go to the dentist for a crown and a filling.

    That was 7 months ago.

I have dental work fatigue. Been 2 years now since the root canals and bridge work. 8 months ago I chipped a molar pretty badly that needs attention. I know its going to need a crown. Need a cleaning too. I just DGAF these days. Have great dental coverage too. Luckily no pain tho.

had to get a crown on a molar summer before last. the worst part - other than the bill  - was the damn glue they used. that shit hit the nerves and i swear it was like a lightning bolt right to the brain. brought tears to my eyes.
was a good thing i only had to deal with the temp for a little over a week. couldn't chew for crap and had to live off of grilled cheese sammiches, bananas, yogurt and spaghetti.

I’ve got some friends that live in Apple Valley. They said it’s been coming down out there. They are still above water but lots of flooding in Victorville.

    :hattip: Good evening everybody.

Annual physical went well, small adjustment to the dosage on my BP med and I get to add a low dose statin to the routine.
