A simple tune of the ECU will do the most. It would bring it to the power that the bike gets in the rest of the world. There are aftermarket exhausts that will add more power. There’s a couple more parts that will help, but I don’t think anyone has broke 80 hp. A few have been putting theirs on a diet. Chuck Graves has shaved ~70-80 lbs from his track only bike.

I kinda dig it. It would have been better if the wheels had matched the color of the strip instead of being black

I think I backasswards accidentally got RPM membership at Revzilla free for this year.

It auto-renewed through Rever, without me knowing until I got the invoice, that also had like half a year from when I renewed at Revzilla, but still had time on my Rever subscription, then they charged a makeup difference... anyways, it was weird, I got the yearly RPM refunded through Rever.

Well today, went to order oil change supplies for the BMW and lo and behold, I still have RPM status through September on Revzilla through Rever. Methinks their systems don't really talk to each other.

    Whoop whoop.

My olds ones looked so good when they were clean. Would love some for my Tuono but they're too freaking $$$

well it looks like the kawi 400 is being replaced with a 500 to compete with the other bikes in the market. so im kinda interested in it i do wonder about specs on performance

451cc = 500? lol motorcycle manufacturer math. Just saw someone speculating that the bmw g310 is getting replaced by a 420cc twin, still made in india. Same old story of models getting bigger and bigger until they release a new small model to fill the gap the old one used to be in before they made it bigger...

Fuckin lol. They made the 250 for beginners, then upped it to 300 for a little more oomph. Then to 400 cause people were racing them and having a good time. Now they're 500, twice the cc it started at. They still sell the250 in other countries, but this has gotten a bit silly. There's also a 650 if I'm not mistaken

ya i dont get that math lol but i do like the new styles of both plus 51hp vs the 44hp so a bit of a hp jump. hopefully they dont get rid of the 400 thou since its a great bike for starters and others
yuup but to be fair unless you are in a small town a 250 does kinda suck for anything else lol

They were a great starter race bike. In fact, they were also a great pro race bike, so guys could race multiple events over the weekend and have fun on something small and slow. Then the 300s came and whooped their asses, and the 400s, and now it's all different classes. It's super ridiculous.

I rode the the Ninja 400 last summer during a Kawasaki demo days event. I wasn't impressed with it. I like the ZX4RR, the same cc, much better. The ZX6 was fun to ride too. I was unimpressed with the KLR650. My CRF230 seemesnlike it has more pep and more enjoyable than the much larger KLR650. I also tried the Vulcan. Before I even got out of the parking lot I hated it. The foot pegs had my feet far forward instead of under me. I almost turned around and parkednit before getting out of the parking lot, but I rode on. It took about 1/3 of the way through the ride before I got used to where my feet were supposed to go and was able to adapt to it. I was starting to enjoy it just as the ride was coming to an end. I could see that good for along distance ride. I had some people on another forum suggest I would be better off on a larger sports bike. I was then looking at the ZX10R. Just the thing to really get myself into trouble.

better is in eye of the beholder tbh... both bikes are great but truly trying to compare the two is kinda apples and oranges yes they are both 400s but one is a parrallel twin and one is a 4cylinder. so kinda hard to compare them at all plus the fact the zx4rr is the zx6r chassis with a smaller motor so its leaps and bounds different from the basic little 400. for me i pursonally like the twins for the sound and the grunt ive never been a huge fan of the 4cylinders.

I liked the sound of the inline fours over the twins. I feel that the ZX4RR rode and performed more like the ZX6 than the 400.

yup everyone has what they like. also thats because it is the zx6 with a 400cc engine... so you cant compare it to the standard 400 truly

I’d love to hear those baby little cylinders singing at 16,000 rpm while riding down the road. Truly bonkers.

And yeah, absolutely closer to a 6 than a 400, both in terms of power, delivery, and premium-ness of the components.
