    Yes of course.
But in all the sampling I've done on other vehicles and equipment I've never seen other than "<1%".
I assume the dilution is that high due to the dual injection methods the 2grfks uses.
My question for other tacoma owners is, has anyone else seen results like this.

A Collateralized Debt Obligation (CDO) is a type of structured asset-backed security that is backed by a pool of loans and other assets and sold to institutional investors.

I don't get the reference but I'm glad you're having fun.

My first change was at 1000 Miles. I plan on another one at 3000 and the dealer will do it at 5000 miles and every 5000 after that. If I do some hard miles towing I will change the oil 2500 miles after the scheduled dealer interval. Oil is a lot cheaper than engine repairs. If you think this is excessive I change all three oils in my Harley every March, June and September or if I hit 2500 since the last change.

    Wow…..you’re really NOT OCD then.

CDO is OCD in alphabetical order.

And yes…….I do know a thing or two about finance. Collateralized Debt Obligation (CDO) is a rather common term.

    Im not OCD
I’ve worked aircraft for 40 years
    I believe in maintaining equipment
I believe in getting contaminants out as early as possible. New engines have a great deal of debris from manufacturing as well as break in.

For me it has nothing to do with OCD, it’s all about longevity and contamination removal.

Yes, I believe the numbers are higher due to the injection cleaning.

Silicon is from the manufacturing process. It will greatly reduce with oil changes.

The oil does so much more than just lubricate.

Did my 1st change at 500 miles and then went to 10k changes, all Mobil1.

Here’s the 40k analysis from Blackstone.

Do you have the 500 mile one? The 40k one is not what is being discussed in this thread.

Here is the report from my factory fill at just under 4,500.
I have not taken another sample since. Planned to do it last time in July but forgot to collect the sample. Will do it the next time in about a month. I've been changing my oil every 5,000 miles and the last few time switched to Supertech synthetic 0w20.

Toyota engineers are often overruled by bean counters whose job is to cut corners and save money every way possible. Also they don’t want your Tacoma to last forever they need you to keep buying more after yours takes an early shite due to 10k mile oil changes

Don’t forget about Toyota chasing the EPA’s grace. Longer oil changes, less waste oil. Engineers are certainly overruled by bean counters and Execs…..saw it 1st hand at Caterpillar and GE.

Super high copper, iron and silicon. Consistent with mine. So it didn’t really get filtered out from 3k miles to 4.5k and was just circulating in the oil.

I’ll add another point of comparison. Here’s my change from the factory fill at 1600 miles.

Yeah so that is correct there are metals and things still in the factory fill that the filters don't fully collect. Only changing the oil will flush it out in time. I'm not sure how bad it is for the engine to go 10,000 on the first fill of engine oil but glad I changed it when I did. mine has been changed by the dealer at 10,000 then by me at 15,000 the dealer again at 20,000. changed by me again at 25,000 where I forgot to sample again and I'm about to 30,000 now and as soon as I get a good saturday to work outside I'm changing the oil and will collect and send in a sample. Then I can see if all the metals have dropped as they should.
