    I know less then nothing about programming the decoders or using the DCC throttle. I set up a 3' test track and started pushing buttons and reading drop down menus. I got the headlight to work and the air compressor sound, the ringing bell and the horn. Good grief, it actually SOUNDS like a
    K-27. I noticed a cam on one of the drive wheel axles that has some sort of electrical connector on it, so the cam must set the timing for the steam valve sound. It's pretty impressive considering that manufactures need to use encoders these days to get the same result. Simple mechanical designs for the win!

    Thanks, I will read that tomorrow. I took in a seminar at the train show for DCC programming, it sounds like I really need to download the JRMI and JAVA software to be able to do some programming.
