Is it possible to remove the headliner on the early 1st Gens? All my searches have come up with how to remove the later 1st gen headliner but I came across one post saying you’d have to remove the rear window. Is this true?

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Technically to remove the whole thing intact, yes you have to remove the rear window... thing is you'll never put the headliner back in properly anyway if you remove it. I got a used later style headliner for when I finally remove mine. They vinyl one is under tension and usually breaks or otherwise won't retention and looks like shit after its been removed once.
