Let's use this thread to post real-world door stickers and chat actual payload numbers. I am curious to see how the 4th gen shakes out against the Tundra!

In a TFL video posted in another thread, their TRD OR has got a pathetic 1200# payload.

I just saw this too. Kind of shocking given how basic their spec is as well.

Yep. I’m super disappointed with the 4G so far.

it does make me wonder where the 1700lb will really come from. Maybe just in in the trailhunter trim?

    Hm no idea.

If my memory serves me correctly, I think saw a video where they were talking about how brakes were larger on the trail hunter. So that could be it.

I think in the TFL video they keep saying the Hybrid will have the #1700 payload, but that makes no sense to me. I think it will just be the TH that does.

Funny how they spend money on cosmetics and bs looks , but if you want to get truck that has more payload u have to pay more. Total BS. The meaning of truck now days diminished has so bad.

Trucks used to be made CHEAP, ROUGH and Uncomfortable but with power and capacity. Modern trucks are now for soft boys who sit in office, never actually do anything with their hands and also apply cosmetic cream on their shiny skin

True, but that is what the market demands. There ae still basic trim levels available that are more function over form.

I saw this as well, but the hybrid battery would theoretically suck up some of that weight.

I am betting Toyota is pretty conservative with their payload ratings. Even a Honda Odyssey minivan has a 1300# payload.

As he writes this sitting in his modern "soft boy" Tacoma. But seriously, I encourage everyone to use moisturizer especially on your feet. Feels great!

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the 4g have equal or more power and capacity than the 3g?

If so that just means the 3g has cheapness, roughness, and uncomfortableness making it a more truckly truck. I feel like rough and uncomfortable are not what people are looking for in a vehicle. Did you buy your 23 because your didn't like how it looked or felt?

I bought my 23 because my 03 4runner rusted out. Otherwise I would have NEVER spent any money on any new car.

People arent looking for rough and cheap but thats what they have money for.. TRUCK needs to be affordable for PEOPLE who NEED trucks. TRUCK does not need to cost as much as an SUV, 4rd gen tacoma is topping 4runner price. One has to be really stupid to actually pay for 4rd tacoma 4cyl when they can get 4runner which tows as much , has 4.0L and offers more room inside... AND is more off road capable.

Whole point of truck is the bed, and cheap price, because its made cheaply, its made to be hammered around and sht to be carried around. Like my 3rd gen has leather like rubber on doors, idk who asked for it, I am scared to rip it every time i throw things inside, so stupid.

IDK dude, if you have over 40K to pay in Toyota truck thats your call, but I will never pay over 40K in 4cyl engine.

GVWR of 6175lb. This is a Sport 4x4 double cab. With a curb weight of 4720lb that should give this model a payload of 1455lb.
