I bricked my pickup Thursday flashing to 04B04. The VF recovery tool was unable to fix it. I reached out to @PapaRee to see what my options were. He connected me with @TWTaco, who was able to revive my ecu via a bench flash. I’ve said this before, but it deserves repeating: the customer service from the KDMax group is beyond amazing – they’re super helpful, and genuinley nice people. Thanks again guys!

805 Tacoma Tuning received information stating that there was a need to support an individual interested in learning more about getting his vehicle dialed in.

@looledwin reached out to the KDMAX network, and they pointed him in our direction, knowing we would provide him with all of the necessary information while delivering the results he was looking for.

Once again, we assessed his vehicle build and personal driving style, determining that our Sport throttle option would suit him well.

Edwin opted to use the drive home as his test drive, and we received a text soon afterward, which read..

“ Like a whole different truck, a night and day difference. “ – Edwin

805 Tacoma Tuning received a call from @lupitavazquez209 on Instagram who had received a business card from us a few months prior.

When the time was right, Jesus reached out, requesting more information about KDMAX Pro tunes and the tuning process.

We had a brief yet thorough discussion and identified a scheduling window that worked well for everyone to get him set up.

Jesus arrived with his wife and daughter, who were all very patient and fun to work around while we set his truck up.

Ultimately, we determined that our Normal throttle option would suit his driving habits best.

After their test drive, Jesus returned and said:

“ It’s like a brand new truck, I can not believe the difference in the way it drives ” - Jesus

805 Tacoma Tuning was contacted by @mikey7981 on Instagram, looking to improve the functionality of his 2017 Tacoma.

Jesus tried multiple tunes from network competitors and felt they each lacked the improved performance and overall drivability enhancements he was searching for.

As Ventura and Santa Barabra Counties Authorized KDMAX provider, we felt confident that we had the right setup to get him dialed in.

After his test drive, he stated the following:
“It actually shifts correctly and no longer struggles to find the right gear. The power feels great, and the truck accelerates very well!” -Jesus

Will there be a tune for the 4th gen?

 

If vftuner is able to get into the ECU and supports the 2024 Tacoma, yes.
According to vftuner, the new ECU’s are harder to crack. The new Tundras (2022+) are currently not supported yet.

 

Harder yes , Impenetrable NO !

 

Test drove a 2024 Sport today. I was pretty impressed with the performance. The low end torque is right there. In Sport mode it was pulling really nice. Completely different from the 3rdgens. Price is a bit crazy!

 

Inquiring Minds must know. Are you able to fit a 32oz hydro flask or Yeti in the cup holder?

 

Looks ok, but damn, price! 10k more then my 3rd gen off road 6mt

 

They look larger but I couldn't say for sure.

 

Recently had @InternationalHarvester set me up. What a difference! I waited 4K miles to pull the trigger but I wish I did it sooner. Without the tune this is probably worst shifting/gear hunting truck I’ve ever experienced. Mike took care of that. Thanks again brother. For anyone in the Reno NV area, hit Mike up.

 

One last feedback hometowns, and possibly the most important for me.

The tune makes ALSD work A WHOLE LOT BETTER. I call TRAC magic. Now Toyota has “the kind” TRAC magic.

I just got back from a drive in the rain to clean the wheel wells and TRAC connectors from a muddy wheeling day at Hungry Valley the other day. My driveway is somewhat steep. Then add my garage’s entrance is off to the side, and the driveway rises even more. So when we have the Element parked out front, it forces me into a tight right turn pinch into the garage. Monterey Pine needles don’t help any, and rain makes it worse. Forget about an open diff in this situation. KDMAX PRO to the rescue

Using Sport+, I took a deep breath and entered Nirvana!!!! Instead of burning a whole lot of rubber with a strong bumping effect that the brake limited slip caused to get into the garage with the OEM tune, it burned WAY LESS rubber before the ALSD kicked in strong, no bumping whatsoever, just rolled in like no one’s business. I didn’t expect the no bumping and less squealing.

Bad ass fellas. The gift that keeps on giving.

805 Tacoma Tuning and @tsteph1030 on Instagram, were able to get together and beat the incoming storm this afternoon so we could set his 2023 Tacoma up with a KDMAX Pro tune.

It was a lot of fun talking to Trevor and ultimately working together with him during his appointment. He asked very good questions and displayed a great deal of automotive knowledge.

As always, our favorite part of the process was witnessing the KDMAX smile upon returning from his test drive.
