My Mom bought a Silver Buick Century brand new and thankfully also went with a GM 75K extended warranty. The transmission completely shit itself at 74,998 Miles and naturally GM fought with her and fought with her, but eventually covered it.

@Stitchgirl90 and I are going to a funeral tomorrow morning, and the deceased was only 21 years old...

@Gwyns04 was my teacher from about October 2008 to June 2010, and Amanda's teacher from about September 2009 to June 2011. The mother of the deceased was an assistant to Gwyn, and she has been through unimaginable tragedy since 2012. Her late husband was trying to quit smoking and took Chantix. One of the side effects of Chantix is severe depression, and he took his own life in the summer of 2012.

@ABA180 may remember a story about a double decker bus crash in the Boston area back in about 2013...? It was a motorcoach/tour bus, and from what I remember, the driver didn't read a heigh requirement before crossing a bridge. The top of the bus impacted part of the bridge, and totally destroyed it. Her older son was on the top level of this bus, and became a paraplegic as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

On January 29th I believe, her younger son hopped in his 2013 Nissan Altima at about 7:45pm and drove to see his girlfriend. His girlfriend called his mom and said that he'd never arrived. My old teacher called the cops and reporter him missing.

On Wednesday (January 31st), police investigating a separate accident found his Altima in a creek with him dead inside; I am not entirely sure what happened, but based on what I've heard he went off the road and into the creek, and initially survived the crash but was incapacitated by his injuries and either succumbed to them or drowned.

 

Sad to hear.
