Aluminum sounds good to have with the cost of gas lately, and yours looks so nice and clean!

For some of us having a full steel metal jacket (Mobtown in my case) works best going over rocky trails though… damn the weight!

I cannot determine the space left behetween the actuator and the new pipe. This is mine after the re-route.

Not wrapping anything as it doesn’t get as hot as you would think

PHX. Post in the regional sub-forum for SoCal asking who can do work. But you should have the shop redo it to leave more room. If not that then wrap it because it will get hotter than you think for the electronics in the actuator.

It’s about the same distance …..the pipe didn’t hug the housing per my recommendation

I am considering getting the aluminum rci transfer skid soon, talked to a local shop that can do it. Trying to search threads for better info, and whether it will line up okay with a millercat transmission/catguard center plate. RCI thinks some rework/mod of the skids might be needed, and the oem bars may need to go, but not sure i can see why.

What material (aluminum, stainless steel, grade+gauge etc.) did the shop use for the exhaust reroute, and what was the cost or # hours?
What do people usually use or recommend for exhaust rework material? why/does it really matter much? And what’s the oem exhaust material? rustable steel?

What are some good wrap examples? To make sure the heat is not a problem for the actuator?

I can’t comment since I went full RCI skids without the cat guards.

The shop who did mine was recommended by my regional forum. I assumed they know best what materials last longest. In "ever sunny" Illinois, the parts may be different than used for PHX. Tyr your regional forum https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/mid-west.39/ and just be sure the gap between transfer case and pipe is sufficient.

Any off-road outfitter knows some gold-plated heat pads, probably run you around $55, my guess.

What about commenting on the exhaust reroute materials/technicals ?
The shop i spoke to said they would use aluminum normally
I’m trying to see if i learn anything on other threads, but …

I would say Galvanized Steel would work just fine and be easy to work with

I would trust the recommendations you get from the regional forum. I did, and my accuator has not been harmed.

As i’ve searched around a bit more, found an example of a clamp-on heat sheild for the exhaust, as another option.
