Will these control arms work?

I just ordered a set of shocks (Bilstein's 4600) off a 22 TRD off road and a set of oem leaf springs for my 2011 Tacoma. I currently have a 2.5 in suspension lift on my truck. My control arms are freedom off road UCA/LCA advertised for 2-4 in lift. Since I am swapping out the shocks for the Bilstein's and losing the lift, are the UCA/LCA ment for 2-4 in of lift going to cause an issue? Ive been unable to find a definitive answer online or any threads discussing this.

Heres the shocks I ordered and am wondering if the Freedom off road control arms will work with.


Does anyone out there have a 2nd gen with these 4600 shocks?

 

I think you will probably be ok since it was less than 3 inches on the lift.

What website did you order those shocks from? I'm looking to replace all mine as well since I'm rebuilding the majority of my front suspension.

 

I found a good deal on ebay, they are used off of a 22 Trd OR with 17 k miles. Saw some other ones out there if you were looking to get some used. saved a couple hundred this way.

You don't think the UCA would potentially mess with the alignment and push the spindle out further?

 

1. Stock OR Bilsteins are smaller than 4600s.

2. Your truck should still be align-able with the exception of extra caster. The extra caster provided by the UCA may cause rubbing if you run 32" tires. Stock 31" tires should be fine. That's assuming you have Tacoma UCAs and not F-150 UCAs shown in your link...

 

I do have the Tacoma ones not F150, didnt realize linked those instead lol. I currently have 265 70r17 tires on the truck, you think those would be fine? Will the extra caster cause the tires to wear weird?

 

Tire size is fine. Caster doesn’t cause wear issues. The only issue I could see happening is you may have to run a bit more caster than normal for a stock height truck. running 3-3.5* caster won’t hurt anything. As long as the alignment tech can also get camber in spec.

 

Good to know..... do you think the truck will actual be at "stock' height being its a 2011 and im putting shocks from a gen 3 on it? Or more like 1 ish inches over "stock"

 

Maybe 1” ish over.

 

What about the ball joints ? Do you think it will cause them to fail prematurely?

 

^Ball joints will probably last longer than a lifted application.
