Hey fellas. I bought a used 2020 3.5 4x4Tacoma with 32k miles. Drove it for almost a month w/o any issues. It came with a K&N filter which was super loud. I never cared for K&N oiled filters, so I installed a AFE Super Stock induction system with the dry filter.

The problem is that now I'm getting the check engine light and trac control light after driving 13 miles or so. Interestingly enough, the trac control light disappears when I go over 35-40 mph. The check engine light is constant. The error is P0101 for MAF.

I've checked my 'work' and there are no leaks. Do you guys think that the OEM MAF is too 'weak' for the AFE? No check engine light or trac control light before I changed from K&N to AFE.

    Thank you in advance.

Like I said, I don't care for the K&N oiled filters so that the first thing I did after clearing the code. Needless to say, the code came back like clockwork.

Like I said I bought it used and it came with it. I would have kept it stock otherwise.

Recheck intake for leaks, check pcv hose connections. You may try to clean, but SM calls for the replacement

I'm not sure what a super stock induction system is, but that could very well be your problem. It probably has nothing to do with the old K&N oiled filter mucking up your MAF.
