If you're in a sub 100K 3rd gen, there is no value in moving into a 4th gen Tacoma, IMO.

Sounds like a Ridgeline is a little more your speed.

It would probably be fine or even better. May not tow my boat as well though.

You’re right. Notice in the configuration screen the box gets smaller when you click OR prem. Also mentions it in the details.

I had a first gen ridgeline and loved it. It had some great features and interior space.

I was looking at the ridgeline just this week and was surprised to see there’s already a $3000 rebate (Canada) on the newly refreshed 2024.

Used cars also seem to have a lot of price reductions so I’m thinking Toyota may offer some promotions after the initial hype wears off.

I think you just need to buy up and stockpile used 3rd gen access cabs

The majority of the posts here have little or nothing to do with 2024 Tacoma but my comment on the longevity of the Tacoma is in line with several recent posts and I thought it was worth mentioning.

I had this happen and ended up bumping out my garage a little to fit a Silverado...an expensive fix for sure.

Watched the new TFL video on their travel and tow with the 4th gen. They weren't exactly enamored with it after 1000 mi.

I still feel like the Tacoma is just a poor value relative to its peers at this point. TFL touches on this as well. 50k buys you a meh Tacoma. Nothing I have seen changes that IMO so far.

TFL was clear that Toyota addressed the shifting issues with the old 6A and seating position, but otherwise...

I have no real issues with the seating position, or shifting though lol. Also, getting 150 mi. of range towing is dog's ass.

Yeah...HOAs - never again for me. I was able to take space away from my basement to make the garage about 5' deeper. Have a smaller mudroom not but it was worth it. Wish I could fix the low garage ceilings though! Barely 7'. The pains of living in an old house (cars were smaller back in the day).

Their only gripe is as with towing, which a Tacoma wouldn’t be my first choice to tow anything 1000 miles more than once in a blue moon. They would have had a worse time in the 3rd gen (which they complained about in this vid)

They were praising it’s ride, refinement, and got 24 mpg when not towing.

Not sure if anyone of you visit the Ranger 6G forum.....but those guys keep getting their dates pushed out. Not sure any Rangers have been delivered at this point. Should we take bets on if the Pros will be out before the Raptors?

They also mentioned the noise and tiny screen and lack of brake controller for 50k. Even Andre's bare bones, no CC having base TB has a brake controller. Yeah, the brake controller and screen are addressable through options, but it's already a 50k truck, that's the point of it being a poor value relative to its peers.

And why should a vehicle rated to tow #6500 not be an adequate choice to tow sub 3k? As someone who tows a ton with his 3rd gen, it does this fine. TFL's OR should have been a good 3-400 pounds under payload capacity as it was set up. Since I have a trailer similar in profile to the one they were dragging, I find getting less than 12 MPG and their overall range while towing to be relative to my concerns. I get somewhere between 11.6-13.5 MPG towing now with my truck, I guess I would have expected a truck with a much better torque curve, more gears, and a more efficient engine to do better than my current vehicle. My mistake.

Lol @ buying a fullsize to tow less than 3k.

This might be true, but I don't care to drive around in a 1/2 ton the rest of the time. Price and value might force me to go there, but not 3k pounds being towed.

I'm not in the market for a Ranger Raptor, but the V6 Lariat is interesting. Guessing it is getting pushed back as well?

Having a swaybar would have been really helpful for them too.....Especially for that area they were in. He was talking about tail wagging at one point, so either his load is unbalanced or the wind in that area.
