Probably $65k. Local dealer is selling 24 Off-road Premium at $54k. Pro definitely has $10k more parts. If you can remove those dumb seats then maybe $60k.

I put a deposit on a pro and I’m 6th in line. If it’s over $60k then I’m out and will probably look into getting ZR2. Like someone else said. The pro is the best looking trim. I don’t like what they did with the off-road trim.

 

Lately I have been eyeing a Tundra. Most particularly this one. SR5 with the TRD off road package. Traction controls, locker. Lift. With bigger tires, that truck is looking alright. Shoot, even has power folding side view mirrors.

And a lot more for one’s buck.

Too bad Toyota doesn’t offer Atrac for the SR5 Tacoma.

I agree with those that say the hybrid is only for the upper tier Tacomas.

American Greed knows those that shouldn’t will succumb.

 

Tundras are stacked wall to wall all across America. Have you looked outside Southern California? There are a shit ton of deals out there.

Oh, I’m not paying that price. But I would love a Tundra aside my SR5. I’ve read a lot here about folks buying out of state. I always assumed California made it difficult to register a vehicle bought out of state.

But yeah, a lot of Tundras on lots.

I don’t know to be honest. I haven’t really been looking seriously, other than this SR5 TRD caught my eye real quick when I was at the dealer last week and made me ponder some.

I’m just disappointed Toyota went with a 4 banger, turbo. I could care less about the power. I’ve felt plenty from different ICE power plants. I just don’t like small power plants making huge power unless it’s a Formula 1 engine. What will the longevity be, particularly those that haul a lot? Curious minds want to know!!!

 

Not surprised considering carmax would have zero data to offer a price for it. Some guy also did it with a brand new 100K Cybertruck and I think is quote was around $78-80k.

 

Missed this one hometown, I apologize. Yeah for sure, my next buy will be out of town or out of state. It’s going to get stupid here when the Tacoma appears. Might open a door here for a Tundra, or make the welcome door openings a little wider out of town.

Interesting isn’t it? I thought the Tundra had a V8. Was blown away to find out it was a TT V6. And a 3.5 at that.

Now 4K off is more like it. That is a good deal for a Limited. Thanks fellas, I truly appreciate the intel. I’ll deal with the DMV’s bs, if any, and buy out of town because SC is loco with stupid overpriced “deals.”

What a difference a day makes hometown

Scary stuff. It’s a mess all over the canyons and the road heading up to my place is sketchy. Cal Trans has closed it for now, with hourly “drive thrus.” We have a neighborhood alert via email. Someone’s wife got stuck in the same area I had a moment at earlier this week (I had to go take care of my 94 year old pops. Stupid move to leave, but it was my turn in the family!) The husband wrote he came down with his 4WD to get her out. Some of the road has no protection of going over a steep drop.

The bad part is we have a little more coming this evening, and the real bad part is we’ve had slides occur weeks after. So it’s going to be sketchy for some time. Particularly big ass fucking boulders. From a few years back.

 

I hate pretty much all of the Portland dealers, but if Gladstone will do $7k off a Limited then I may have to take a drive up there.

 

I couldn't agree more with your post. I was so close to buying a Tundra 18 months ago, but I was very specific in my colors/options and could only find what I wanted from dealers charging 5k markups. I refused to pay that and now I see my "markup happy" local dealer, loaded with Tundras and a big "$5k off MSRP" banner out front. Like you said, 2026 may be the time I get exactly the Tacoma and I want, and I'll avoid the first year problems and by then the aftermarket parts market will be loaded with awesome modifications. I have 31k miles on my 2017 (bought in Oct 2016), guess I will keep it for a solid 10 years.

 

With $7000 off listed on the window, I would consider that the starting price for further negotiation. Seems to be a buyer’s market now on some vehicles unlike during the pandemic and chip shortage.
