    Morning all

Clear blue skies this morning, another storm coming this afternoon, this one is the cold part from up north.

Yeah, no. Look at what we did to Owens valley, or the water cannon mining in the Sierras. Or the current battle for water with the central Valley.

Rocky Mountain national park. If I’m remembering correctly it’s the Fall River.

Break 66 in a few months yeah hard for the brain to catch up with the body [IMG][IMG]:pout:Some days my body only feels its age. Others it makes me wonder why I'm not farting dust yet.

Don't forget to put an Earth First sticker on!

You need forest regeneration growth to support wildlife if not the woods are sterile and wildlife can not survive. Mother nature has been taking care of that on her own for a long time using fire. Finally many places are using controlled burns instead of fire suppression if not cutting.

All around the Country but especially up and down the Appalachian backbone. In 77 the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act (SMCRA) was passed. I remember well some streams in Pa. being yellow from mines hitting Sulphur deposits. And many other colors from different minerals some were quite beautiful with colors looking like rainbows. But were poisonous.

Hunted many of those reclaimed coal areas especially on State Game Lands in Pa. They are "different". Because trailing's are used for most of the fill and the topsoil is thin first thing I noticed is no woodchuck holes. Vegetation is a bit different as well. But in a thousand years or so they will be back to normal.

In Western NC the mining companies also stocked musky in the streams, it is a well kept secret. Well not so much anymore people come from all over to fish for them, even fly fish. There was a 5 footer under the bridge over the French Broad South of Asheville. Was still there when I left, musky are called the fish of a thousand casts for a reason. Last fall the Captain who had never been musky fishing went with us to the Sunset Country of Canada for a cast and blast. 20 minutes in he caught his first musky, it was a small one but still 20 minutes first time??

Naw, just a older dude with a grey ponytail. LOL.
I have a family member who is a Nurse there. He says the Doc is very cool. I'm in agreement.
I always had good treatment from Corpsman. Sometimes blood draws went bad but I'm pain tolerant. LOL
On my first ship the supply guys wanted to smoke pot and the Corpsman wanted Rolex watches so they traded. Yeah, the corpsman doctored the piss test and that went on for at least a year. I had to escort one of the Corpsman to the Brig in Naples Italy after CM. LOL

Time to take down the larger of the two remaining pines this weekend. I couldn’t sleep last night thinking about it. I’ve dropped a lot of trees over the years, but this trio are stressful. Simple but high risk. The one by the deck will need equipment. There’s no way to overcome the lean. IMG_1403.jpg

Did the pecker checkers ever find out those Rolex watches had Timex guts?!

Getting poked before getting paid every 2 weeks on the mess decks would think those corpsman would have got better with the needles, but they never did LOL. After the Iranian hostage crisis, erh situation, I had to have my shoulder rebuilt. The Navy doc used a modified Bristow procedure and it gives me problems to this day and of course getting worse.

I was told by a doc at Mayo Clinic that the Bristow operation hasn't been used since the 1930's due to complications. He was a Navy doc for 8 years and is one of the best in the world. So it can be hit or miss, but I'll take him any day of the week if I have to see a doc!

Wore a lot of hats over the years and had to go pick up 4 guys from the Brig in Norfolk in the middle of the night once. When the Brig called he said they were full of piss and vinegar so bring some cuffs. I went to the Master at Arms shack and found some cuffs and threw them in my back pocket. Walked in to get them and the MAA at the front desk said to her shipmate next to her I like this guy he doesn't mess around he brought leg irons. So that is why the chains were so long on the cuffs....
