That’s actually the only known footage of someone who apparently never had a complaint about any Tacoma, Gen’s 1-4.

He was last overheard by some campers insisting the timing cover never leaked, seating position is perfect, and it shifts beautifully…

"Powertrain details are unknown, but judging by the Tacoma's offerings we expect to see a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine ranging from 228 to 278 horsepower as well as a hybrid setup with as much as 326 ponies. "

Toyota gives the 4runner 228 hp to protect the LC I am gonna die of laughter lol.

4k is about the max I have towed, and my truck has had bags, sumos or HD leafs through most of its life, but I find brakes to be the real shortcoming when towing not power, generally. Stock my truck porpoised pretty badly though.

Full disclosure, I live in a state that shoots speeders...

I fully assume I would have to tweak the suspension on a 4th gen to my liking to tow well as well.

Since you are interested in my military career and deductive reasoning, to become a pilot you had to take a spatial awareness test. They showed us different trucks that were all the same width but different lengths and you had to pick out the shortest truck. I aced the test. Some people have trouble thinking in more than one dimension.

I mean with width just as important as length, that’s what she said.

All jokes aside, I don’t want to be paying full size truck money for a midsize truck. If you put a gun to my head and force me to buy a truck today, I would still probably buy a midsize truck over a full-size one, because there is no room around here.

With that said, in most of normal America, people will buy the bigger thing if it costs the same amount of money.

I own all three of these. They actually all have the same msrp. Bigger is not always better depending on the intended use.

They do. And they will spend millions to get equipment that is smaller and lighter.

Would you say you were in the 3rd dimension? Coming off hard?

True, but at least in the US bigger vehicles get put on the higher end of the price scale with better features, better engines, better interiors.

In America if you make a smaller car more expensive and feature dense, people will buy a bigger car that costs the same amount of money. I don’t think you can un-teach people that.

When a DCLB is within 6" in most dimensions of a Fullsize, it starts to get a little muddled.

6 inches makes a huge difference.

I can fit my acces cab and a short bed double cab into my shitty tiny, California garage, but I am essentially up against the furnace and water heater. Anything bigger won’t fit.

My truck sticks out of compact car parking spots around here, but not enough that anyone would write me a ticket or worse clip me in the parking garage.

For the taco width is not an issue, because the third generation is not a very wide truck. But full size trucks are so wide that you can park one over both white lines of many parking spaces in the bay area, and things like the raptor and TRX are just too big.

6" for the long bed but 19" for the more common "short" bed. If you want to stay with a Toyota (Tundra), add another 2".

Most parking spaces are too small for a fullsize even the spots at the dealership. If a vehicle is next to me I might be able to open the door 6" Never understood the logic behind parking space sizing when most spots were designed in the 60's when the average passenger car was huge made of steel and had doors the length of a short bed. Even at the mall where there are acres of parking lot.

No doubt you have to make some moves to get the numbers to work out as I stated, but point being these days some of these trucks are closer in size that they used to be.

I was using numbers from this post as a starting point. I spent no time researching truck lengths as I don't really care.

Width is my issue with a FS, not length anyways. People here park like assholes. A Tacoma saves me some trouble.

Yeah, the V6TT would be what I would want if I were shopping for a midsize truck. I've test driven it in a F-150 and it's got great low end torque and had plenty of power for my purposes. My friend has a F-150 with that engine and loves it. He has had zero problems with his truck over the 50k or so miles he has on it. I know that's not a lot of miles, but is still significant.

You really are looking like a douchebag picking on this man that served our country with honor. You should show a little more respect IMO.

@Snakepilot Thank you again for your service. Most of us are greatly appreciative and highly respect you.

Cautionary video for anyone who’s about to pay a hefty dealer/distributor markup. Or just MSRP.

Granted it’s way early, and this particular truck is equipped like a $49.99/day rental car, but they did pay $50k including tax.

Video is fun, but I don't put much stock in it. Carmax gave them an FU price for sure lol.

Also it is good to Grimli is getting some work after Lord of the Rings finally.
