This shit is annoying, really hard to get the ceramic out of a spark plug. Welded a Toyota drive shaft nut to an old spark plug to make an adapter for the compression tester.

No words, I'm conflicted and intrigued by its existence. Its glorious.
The lack of interior shag carpeting is an oversight.

Sofia would pop a squat like that after she started walking whenever she was pooping

That voice is fascinating, I love the way early speech synthesis works.

Damn they grow up so fast walking and pooping at the same time...

Actually that might truly be impressive, I've never tried but I think its probably hard to do.

Yeah, its amazing what can be accomplished with such little processing.

Its still in use too - every US airport's ATIS system has it:

It's pretty well rounded, people even get it to sing. Has the familiar speech synthesis sibilants though, took a long time for computer voices to get past that. Makes sense it is still in use, easy to implement and programs have had the ability to make hardware calls for it forever. I guess it is probably all virtualized these days huh, no reason to employ a dedicated box for it anymore.

I just need to put it on a raspberry pi and hide it at the girlfriends house. Haunting via SSH is totally my jam :burp:

    @Speedytech7

Freaking cpu cooler arrived, and won't fit

It's a NOS Thermaltake with everything inside; using the correct mounting plate (only 1 cause using AM4 omitted use of the plate) and nope

    20240208_085501.jpg

    20240208_085542.jpg

Bracket sits nice and flat with clearance all around

    20240208_092053.jpg

    20240208_092113.jpg

Only ever experienced this once in my life where the cpu sits "high" in relation to where the cooler rests once in place

Remove the bracket, install the heatsink in said bracket, and check clearance and yeah you can see the cpu depth raises the whole assembly

Pretty sure you need to fasten the bracket down first to the mobo and then use the tension clamp to secure the heat sink on, should be under a good bit of pressure when installed.

Yeah, I've built plenty of these before

What I'm saying is, you put one clamp on, and then you use the other to clamp (tension down) on the cpu

But the height of the cpu is significantly taller

Enough so that you can't get the clamp to seat or is it just hard to? This was fairly standard back in the day for multi fit stuff, I've seen em bow the motherboard on the cheaper ones that don't have a backplate even
