The closest vw dealer to us (my wife drives a tiguan) does this to every car they sell. They give no option to not have it. I think it was $300-400 at the time. We bought elsewhere...

Did pretty well in the sticky snow . I have come to the acceptance that I can not get this vehicle though do to back seat space. I will either have to get a tundra or tremor or Gladiator as the glad has 6 inches extra of leg room ....everyone likes 6 inches

Yeah, sucks to be beholden to the rear seat needs....been there and finally getting out of it. 17 year old who is out of the house living with Uncle Sam and one who is about to turn 16 that I probably won't see anymore once she gets a job and whatnot.

2003 Frontier, sold for car seat reasons. 2008 Titan, sold to upgrade to stronger truck for larger RV. 2016 Titan XD - Sold since no longer have RV, kids aging out of camping, also wanted a more fun vehicle. 2018 Wrangler JLU, sidelined when I got my Tundra. 2022 Tundra - Bought because I missed a truck. Sold because I was not driving it and got an offer for more than I paid, used for trade in on wife's vehicle. Back in the Wrangler. Will be handed down to kid in the fall. Going back midsize since I really have no one to ride with me except the wife.

As a guy with a wrangler looking to get into a midsized truck, the gladiator does seem appealing. I do like Jeeps solid axle chassis. Very capable stock, and way cheaper/easier to upgrade than IFS trucks like Tacoma or the GM twins.

I'm looking at the mojave as the fox shocks and the bolstered seats make for a comfy ride

You can't beat the pricing on the Gladiator right now, you can almost name your price on em.

Yeah I didn't look until just now. It's crazy. They're offering 15% discount right off the bat, then you'd surely be able to bring the dealer down even further.

Motor trend says Forsberg comes with new shocks as well, presumably the Nismo branded 6112/5160. Nismo does offer a space lift. Still 5-6k in Nismo parts before sliders, tires, tax and installation.

If I had a garage that could accommodate a Gladiator I'd buy one as I think they will become rare down the road.

The PPV Silverado is available with a 2" lift most likely what ever GM uses on the Silverado TB.

I don’t understand why they are not that popular, but pretty much every dealership here in California is lousy with them, and like you said, they are giving them away. My wife took her Grand Cherokee in for service and one of the dealers approached me and asked me if I wanted one for essentially the family discount price.

For off roading they run in to a lot of the issues that the Tacoma runs in to with the longer wheel base and they can still be rough driving on the road with that solid front axel. Not to mention until the last 6 months or so they were the most expensive midsize out there so a lot of people were priced out of them.

Doesn’t help that they’re comically ugly

I just can't get past the looks of a Gladiator. SFA and being a jeep aren't helping either.

But it is the perfect lifestyle vehicle. You lift it, put on some 38s, put on a tactical rack… You are totally not a yard man if you have one of these, then you drive around on the highway with the tires humming so loudly that everyone around you thinks their gears are going bad.

The wrangler unlimited with its long wheelbase proved that people just want to look like they’re about to go off into the wilderness but really they need an off-road vehicle that never intentionally leaves the pavement.

I have test driven three 2024’s now. They are really nice trucks, even the SR5 I drove yesterday… I have the itch but I shall wait for the Pro and trailhunter release before making a final decision.

I don’t know how many of you guys have driven one yet. They are bigger/taller than they look in pictures and videos on the web.

I am kinda leaning toward a premium optioned out TRDOR at this point. 54ish thousand is still way more than I would like to spend on a truck but you know? You only live once right? Haha

Ram/Jeep got hit first with the slowdown/stoppage of Covid induced hysteria buying (supply/demand shortage) and I think they did not react quickly enough and therefore actually overproduced quite a few models, combine that with late deliveries that pretty much doubled inventory in the fall....you have lines and lines of Gladiators and other Jeeps/Rams on lots.

I'm sure they will adjust or have adjusted production accordingly by now so the desperation discounts/selling will probably ease a bit as 2024 production gets more in line with demand. It is a good time to buy one if you are at all interested in that model though.

None of this is unique to Jeeps. Unlimited, gladiator, or otherwise.
