In the past all other midsize truck manufactures used to follow and copy the Tacoma design. It seems that now Toyota is following/copying all the other manufactures design with the all new Tacoma? It will be interesting to see how Toyota's new approach pans out in the future for the Tacoma. Will the Tacoma continue to be a leader in the segment with this follower approach? Only time will tell.

It’s because of “lifestyle vehicles.” They are a cancer.

In what way? Explain why you think Toyota is copying other designs?

Toyota bases their success with a vehicle based on sales. Time will tell. The 2024 MY will be irrelevant since the model line isn't complete.

I think Toyota in general is copying the lifestyle vehicle trend. The only vehicle that Tacoma copies is the Tundra.

The new frontier is an almost identical copy of the third generation Tacoma, though.

2024 Tacoma sales will definitely be relevant.

Of course they will but since the model line wasn't complete at the start of the sales year I'd say 2025 MY will be more complete of a sales gauge.

And Tacoma will be best in sales, like always. More production yields more sales. Every vehicle sells, for every manufacturer.

That Trailhunter looks like it would benefit if Toyota copied GM rear wheel stearing design. Those 4G DCLB are long.

This and the reason for stupid pricing, gotta look like I am a hard core off roading young old dad with my stabilizer disconnect and wireless apple carplay and giant a** moonroof and massive fender flares and tires.

It really does. I’ve seen it in person from all angles and they finally nailed it. Good job GM.

Even DCSB/ACLB Tacomas are too long for wheeling. Departure angle is it’s biggest weakness.

Agreed looks more clean than the taco which is just angles everywhere. Still wont buy it cause GM but the interior is much nicer and exterior less angly.

That rear bedside is my fave:

Yeah, I would never buy a GM product.

Although, had a customer with 2017ish Colorado with 140k miles and according to him zero issues.

Im sadly looking at a Ford or last of the 2.5 gen Tundras cause I just dont like the Tundras and a Tacoma wont fit growing family needs. And after seeing all the issues with new Tundra and driving a few, the fit and finish is no better.

Is it all EB now? No more v8s right?

I actually was looking at 2018 AC F150 FX4 5.0 before I bought my taco. The ONLY reason I didn’t buy it is no MT option. A bit big for trails but pretty much checked all my boxes.
