Did you have any issues when installing the Brace Kit with possible Frame misalignment? I'm giving myself anxiety thinking about how bad my junk can be , especially on the Driverside.

    Random SideNote:
Made a mockup of the Brace Kit that will help me modify my AllPro sliders to work with the Brace Kit, one of things I'm doing this weekend to help prep for the SUA and Frame Brace install that's happening next weekend. The AllPro Sliders are pretty much a L bracket that bolts to the Frame and is nearly the entire length from front to back

I launched my unsecured spare through my back window, perfect excuse for a solid rear window.

how did you get anti-seize to pour like that?

Honestly tho, that T-Case doesn't really have much issues. Ive only had one that had a bad actuator motor. But Let me know if you want pics from the Work Shop Manual if you're up to an overhaul

Just changing out fluids. Everything has been replaced, except the trans fluid. Probably best to leave it alone at my mileage.

also, ford can go fuck themselves with no drain ports on their diffs. Are you kidding me????

we used a vacuum suction tool, and just sucked as much gear oil as we could out of the diffs, refilled with fresh fluid, spun the wheels, and sucked the fluid out again till it “ran clear” and we only had fresh fluid. Took a little bit, but better than breaking that cover seal and waiting to have it dry.

also rebled the brakes worn new fluid. Shit was dark green and gross.

the truck got new coolant and oil and refrigerant when they had the cab off so that’s covered. This thing should be mint for a long time now. SHOULD

lol when 454 was installing my DMZ read kit he had to pound my frame flat again in the section just next to the cab to get the DMZ dimple plates in. I bent the fuck out of it jumping the truck with stock length shocks and stock bumps. The stock bumps creamed the fucking frame. Everything’s boxed in now and reinforcements were added so I’m not worried about it, but you should be able to make do.

    right on!!

Is the Front Pinion Seal leaking yet? It will, and often the Intermediate Shaft Housing will seep Diff oil where it meets the Diff Housing.

Bruh lol. Is there anything on these fucking trucks that is safe from leaking some sort of fluid? The gas tank? I won’t have to reseal that will I?

We used floor jacks to help push it up and align. Plus put in all the bolts to hold it. It wasn’t to bad. I thought it would be worse given what I put the truck through in east coast wheeling. Windrock and Black Rock Mountain are very unforgiving to trucks in the fall and spring.
Plus being heavy and the shenanigans hear.

After seeing @snowsk8air2 truck break. I had bad dreams of doing the same. Hence went all out welding them in along with the DMZ kit.

worked out good in the end. Did keep the archive towers since already had a framed cross brace for them that is also my spare holder. Next step would be bed cage and 16-18” shocks through the bed.

i love how everyone is such raptor fan boys but literally every post is about a million serious faults and the best part is that you guys haven’t even addressed the earlier gen frames that were every bit as bad as ours or the spindles that snap like twigs

To be fair, I’ve always been a raptor fanboy, but these things are waaaaaaay overhyped. Don’t get me wrong, its for sure the most capable stock truck out there by a good margin, and I’m sure the 3rd gen’s are even better with the links, but like my 2nd gen raptor is no better off-road than my 2nd gen Tacoma when it was on kind ext length mid travel shocks.

I jumped the thing, and it came down in to compression, and rebounded just as high off the ground as the jump itself was. Stock shocks, stock valving, everything. I know it’s stock, but damn lol.

People unironically do that on the front cover.

the even more infuriating thing, ford performance, the OEM, makes a higher capacity diff cover with a drain plug on it…

Paying extra for convenience, that used to be a common sense practice(drain plugs). Sneaky devils.

Still inconvenient that you have to pull the entire cover off, clean it super well, rtv seal the new one on and let it sit for a few hours. Makes doing it after work at the shop pretty much undoable unless I want to walk 15 miles home lol

Thankfully JDFab ford 9 rear housing from Speedway engineering comes with a drain bung and plug welded in.

I like Raptors. I think they are pretty awesome platform to go from. I just don’t want to pay Raptor pricing.

I sold a long travel T100 and later replaced it with a 2nd gen Raptor.

Ultimately I realized how much work/parts/$$ the Raptor still needed to get it to perform, and replaced it with a new Tacoma.

Now I just have to get off the fence to decide to LT the Tacoma or but a second stand alone truck.
