This should do the trick this time around.. will be nice to have regardless too. Suspension work just got a lot easier.

Taco has been back together for the last week and have been driving it around, somewhat aggressively as well.. all seems fine. Order some more goodies for it to finally get back to the fun modding before an upcoming camp out/adventure. New jump starter/power pack to keep in the truck, a Dometic water pump and a digital rearview mirror.. finally.

On a total side note.... I've been seeing some badass sets of 15" 6lug wheels on ebay these days. Old school jdm stuff... it always makes me wish I had a mini truck project.

    to both your trucks!

Thank you! I definitely have been keeping my eye out for a set of Era appropriate 15" 5 lug JDM wheels over the years. Couple places in Cali I could do a special order or search for some.. just $$$$

Hey dude... It's been awhile. Had a questions for you.... What are your thoughts on the Solid Motor and Trans Mounts? I've heard they can make ride quality pretty rigid and harsh. Any thoughts? Needing to replace mine.

Hey man! if you're concerned about vibes, I wouldnt do them. They do transmit more engines vibes into the cab/steering wheel. You will mostly only feel/notice it when idling.. say at a stop light. Otherwise.. they are MUCH better than stock. My factory mounts wore out so badly that during some spirited trail running, they allowed for enough slop that my upper oil pan made contact with my front diff and cracked the pan. So when I had the upper pan replaced I did the solid mounts at the same time. If you dont care about the vibes, or already have some noises, vibes, rattles, etc.. it wont be very noticeable at all.

Haha... I mean... don't we all have some noises, vibes, rattles, etc???

I guess that's a better question... Is it that noticeable? A little extra vibration is no big deal compared to some of the things we are already so use to. Does it feel any differently going over a bumps/rocks or on a washboard road when the engine theoretically would be vibrating more?

exactly. Its not enough for me to notice or care. Like I said, the only time I do somewhat notice it, is when I'm stopped, idling. But even then.. I dont even notice it most of the time anymore. I dont think you will really feel it on roads or anything. I dont.. but again.. how much of that is the mounts vs everything else on the truck and what's the suspension setup like, etc. The other upside to them, is that they will NOTICEABLY improve throttle response. THAT you will notice.

Sounds good... The throttle response definitely makes sense and seems to be the consensus. Appreciate your insights man. Hope all is well!

Sorry to hear that... I've had some hurdles to overcome as well - One of the reasons my truck hasn't been used as much the last couple years. Just gotta roll with the punches I guess. Good luck!

Looking to pick this up to finally be able to finish my dual battery setup. If I understand correctly.. this should be all I need (minus the battery) to finish my build as I have a lot of the little odds and ends already. The only thing is this comes with a Bussman, which I really wont need and I'm hoping its as easy as unbolting and removing the entire Bussman setup and replacing it with my Switchpro. That would require me to move the switchpro from its current home of on top of the factory fuse box... which will be another benefit of this unit for sale of getting the switchpro off the fuse box and over there with the rest of the components.

Looking for some advice or input, see if there's anything I'm missing, etc.

Well, between @Aw9d being the awesome friend he is and surprising me with some new speakers, and my Alpine PDXv9 5 channel amp finally taking a shit and needing a new replacement.. here's the new setup.

Needed an amp that would 1) fit in the same space, 2) have enough power to push everything, and 3) have the right specs for what I'm running. The fact this Rockford is meant for the elements is an added bonus. I think it will serve nicely. The Morels I'm definitely excited to hear comparted to my old Type R's. Now.. @Aw9d has planted the idea of using my tweeters and crossovers from the type r's for the rear setup. Thanks Colby.. now I have to do it.. lol thanks again Brotha for the speakers and all the help. Hoping to get this all thrown in tonight/tomorrow.
