I have a 1999 Tacoma and need a new front left (Driver's) seatbelt. The interior is bluish gray. I looked up the part number:

    7322004090BO

Does anyone know if seatbelts from other years have the same electrical fitting? Or other years that fit the truck?

    Thanks!
    Billy

Toyota dealer sites list part compatibility. Unfortunately, they don't usually include cab style, which is an important part of seat belt compatibility--belts are not interchangeable between regular and extended cab trucks. I'm not sure about between extended cab and double cab, but I wouldn't count on it.

Belts generally aren't interchangeable outside of a small range of years. The buckles are physically incompatible--they won't buckle into a mismatched receiver. The buckle changes seem to happen along with changes to safety standards. For example, later-model trucks are equipped with an explosive charge that pretensions the seatbelts when the airbags deploy.

I recommend buying a new belt from Toyota. I just bought one a few months ago, and my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.

If you don't want to spend that much money, lots of folks on the forums have used services like https://www.safetyrestore.com/ to refurbish existing belts. I think the service costs about half what a new belt costs but you do have to mail in your existing belt, so you'll be without a seatbelt for some time.

Just make sure, if you go the restore route, to mount the seatbelt before you try to pull it out or it will lock up & you’ll be screwed. Happened to me & I ended up buying a new seatbelt from the dealer here.

Are regular cab oak (1995) driver belts still available?

When I looked a few months ago, I couldn’t find one.

Use your VIN on a dealer site or parts lookup site (like partsouq.com or toyodiy.com) to find the part number, then punch that into Google. Toyota will list the part as "Discontinued" if it's unavailable.

I have no way to verify this, but I have heard stories about parts returning to "Available" after previously being listed as "Discontinued", so it's always worth checking again.

Thanks for the tips. I'm still looking. I can seem to find the part online at Toyota dealer parts counters, but I've not gotten a single parts counter on the phone. Always goes to voice mail.....it's very strange.
