We went to a Paul McCartney concert and they took all the caps off of the bottles. I asked of I could have them back so the kids wouldn't spill their drinks and I was told that Mr. McCartney requested it. He must have been hit by one when he was a kid.

I'd rather be hit with the cap than the bottle

I want to build a fuse block for my truck, but I want something water tight. Been thinking about going the Bussman RTMR route, but gathering up all the pieces is daunting and my ADHD brain doesn't want to deal with it
Plus if you don't buy bulk on all the little pieces the prices are stupid. Thought about reviving the 'Ready built RTMR' kits someone used to sell on here a while back.

Yeah, it can be a lot. At the moment we don't have a ton getting routed there. This is more in preparation for when we start adding more to the truck. We also like tinkering with electrical so its not as daunting since we have a lot of the components lying around anyways.

Processing some photos from today...we just drilled into the roof of the Raptor to install an antenna....a bit nerve wracking.

Always nerve wracking making heavy modifications. I was sweating it welding my sliders on and the paint was catching fire on the inside of the c-channel where the brake and fuel lines are ran.... :annoyed:
Didn't help I was on day 2 of building the sliders and dehydrated.

Ah you welded yours? I bolted mine, but had to drill 4 extra holes in the frame. My arms were on fire and I was sweating over messing with the frame. I had to move the fuel pump controller box....there was not a good alternative position so it got zip tied to whatever would hold it lol...

This was not so much fun, but love the end result. Made sure everything was water tight...don't need any waterfalls. The antenna we got is okay...waiting on another that allows the entire thing to articulate because I am a bit concerned about losing that much clearance on a day to day basis.

Security concern. You can throw a bottle that has the cap on much farther than you can without a cap on. I am sure there is some physics explanation in there somewhere.

I thought it was a good idea to try and wash the first 3 layers of mud off the daily van.

    KIMG3813.jpg

    Damn, Sam!
Is this the going rate? Usually I wash at the garage.

If one happens to not have 30 quarters on hand they offer an alternative for your convenience. o_O

    KIMG3814.jpg

Always makes me nervous washing the van -- something (else) might fall off...

Yes, and built the runners from .25" wall 2x2" square tube, so it's probably the strongest part of my frame now... I didn't think about wall thickness too much before I ordered 8' and then it showed up and I was like well, shit.

Is that the thing in the plastic box on the passenger frame rail? That also got ziptied on mine. I didn't think to look my frame over before I built the sliders to position the runners, and ended up having to cut some bracketry and ziptie that box to make it work. Then when I finally put the truck on the ground it sagged about 2" lower than it had before... My springs are getting pretty tired now... Raised them up another groove and only gained an inch back. Need to buy new suspension...

Needed to air up my axle bags. Didn't feel like stringing the cord to the truck battery.

    So I cheated a little.
