Anyone lower a DC Sport short-bed?

Have a family accessibility issue and am wondering about the possibility of keeping the DC and just lowering it. Also curious as to the reversibility of such a change and the impact it would have on tires/wheels and other considerations.

This is not an aesthetic "low rider" choice but a functional, accessibility need for a family member. Once the need has passed I'd like to be able to return it to it's current, stock, condition as easily as possible.

Thanks for the link. Emailed them some questions. Would like to hear from anyone that has used one of these. Says lowers front 2" and rear 3.5" so I'd expect a seat-height change of about 2.5" I'd guess. Not sure if that will be enough or not.

They got back to me really quick. Looks like just under 3" lower seat height, and they estimate a shop would charge me $400 so the whole thing should be under or at $1k +/-.

Still would like to know if anyone else has one installed though.

the new ones come in double cab 2wd 4 bangers and are super low already

 

I'd be weary of that kit... the leaf packs for the Tacoma is pretty soft and by sitting the axle on top of the leaf rather than below, you'll bottom out quite frequently. You can only get so low with a pick-up before you have to do some fairly extreme modification to the suspension and frame. I'm not sure how long or frequently you'd need this accessibility but you might want to look into rental cars (obviously depending on frequency and length of time needed). It might end up being worth it once you take into account you'll have to put the truck back to stock afterwards. With the kit that was linked to above, you'd actually be over $1,000 once you pay the shop another $400 to put everything back.

 

I agree. I thought it would look pretty cheesy, but it doesn't look bad at all.
