    Yeah, no thanks.

I mean it looks great if you professionally clean, condition and protect every month or so.

Would take me an hour max? Really doesn’t take long but most folks just don’t know any better. Also, dealerships won’t even mention about the extra maintenance because it might turn people away.

Same like when homeowners buy marble/travertine/slate etc for their home, the sales people never mention the proper maintenance. Almost every customer I’ve had regrets going with stone, especially as a kitchen counter surface or a shower.

Granite is alright though. it’s the second hardest stone in the world. Marble/travertine/sandstone/limestone is all Calcium carbonate making it extremely delicate surface. Folks in Europe usually do homed to hide all the etchings/acid burns/scratches but NA folks like it polished, which shows eeeverything.

Buyers are actually asking for it? I thought it was just being forced on them by the dealers. Why would you want it? It makes no sense on a plastic bed?

Definitely not on the tundra forum. And it just comes with it like that from the factory so no real choice of saying no. Every once in a while someone will bring it up and many will point out to just get a bed mat. Toyota was having owners get it replaced with LineX and such because the stuff from the factory was junk. Some went that route as it was a free fix. Most dont want the spray in bedliner.

I’ve used my bed for anything you can think of. It doesn’t look pretty but she holds up no problems.

Mine came in with the spray in. On a positive note, I won’t need to get a bed mat. That composite bed, everything slides around.

mine had the factory scotchguard and to me it seems like it's just a stain attractant.

I think people get the spray-in liner for the slip-resistant texture. The composite bed can get slippery even though its composite. Would I pay for a spray-in liner over the composite bed? No, I wouldn't, but some people want that so the option is there...

My truck came with the off road upgrade package, large multimedia display from the factory. I was lucky the port only added the overpriced USB cables, door edge guards and spray in bed liner. 3 things I have noticed so far about it:
    • far better grip on items than the composite alone
    • the composite is noisy, this deadens the noise, creeks and amplification of the rear drivetrain
    • Adds a more matte finish and tacoma logo
I'd do it again. Didn't have much of a choice this time, but I like it. It's very well done. At first I was against it, but it's growing on me now.

They add another Tacoma logo in the bed liner?
I’m curious how the spray on liner will hold up on the plastic. Will it peal off over time?
I actually like how things slide nicely in the plastic bed. It makes it easier to load and unload items like plastic totes lumber etc. I can slide stuff in and out rather than having to lift it if it is on a grippy surface.

I just pack so much stuff in the bed that things have no room to slide around.

Until we see a 4th gen without a spray in liner, I'm kinda convinced that they're all going to have them. If that's the case, there shouldn't be an added charge for it. That said, I tried to peel some of mine off where they had a bolt taped off, and that shit is on there good. Also, it looks nice so fuck it.
