If you want to retain some factory features you want a Maestro.

Another supporter of crutchfield. But the radio from them and they’ll include a lot of the accessories you need to install it for free. They may even have an open box for cheaper.

If your speakers are stock, you need new speakers.

Hope you don’t have to soldier wires people on here are against that. Or don’t know how.

because wire crimps actually create a stronger mechanical bond than soldering. and use of heat-shrink crimps offers an additional strain relief in the form of the heat shrink ends extending past the crimp.

soldering has known issues in vibration-prone environments of wire embrittlement due to the solder wicking up the stranded wire and creating stress points just before the connection point. solder whiskers can also be a problem. though personally, i've found most people's technique to be more problematic with soldering methods than wire embrittlement or strain relief issues.

i've got hundreds of dollars worth of soldering gear in my shop, but still choose to use wire crimps because of the mechanical bond benefits. i leave the soldering for less mobile projects, or pcb's that don't have the embrittlement issues.

I’ve soldered probably over 1k wires together…. I’ve never had any issue. Guess some people can’t do it.
I was my high school soldering champion.

Ordered my tunes and wiring harness from Crutchfield. It was a simple install, only had to put 2 wires together, and they supplied cool wire connectors.

And I kept all the steering wheel controls.

it's really not a matter of personal capability. though i am a little jealous your high school was advanced enough to even offer a competition in anything mechanical. i had to self-teach myself in grade school, and then helped everyone else with their soldering projects in high school.

it's really a matter of the physical ruggedness, and properties of the connection. stranded wiring is used within vehicles for flexibility. even when performed properly, soldering introduces additional strain and breakage points into a wire that create additional failure modes.

    https://www.mattmillman.com/info/crimpconnectors/

    https://hackaday.com/2017/02/09/good-in-a-pinch-the-physics-of-crimped-connections/

that's the reason all of the connectors in the tacoma are crimped and not soldered.

and if that's not enough, there's also NASA's wiring specifications.
6.07 deals with soldered wiring through-hole connections
    https://workmanship.nasa.gov/lib/insp/2 books/frameset.html

every tool and process has it's place, in a vibration-prone environment with loose wires, crimping is a superior connection method. with discrete components installed on a circuit board, soldering is a superior connection method.

I’ve never had an issue crimping my wires, and I’ve been doing installs like this for a very long time . Not as a living any more. But I did at one time.

    Same here Truckguy.
It was very simple and a nice fit and finish.
But now this plug and play is nice, then your facing cut and Splice One 1 wire! Called crutch, They supply all but the Mic plug. You can make the hole wire harness but can't make a the plug for the mic?!
It's called plug and play and put another mic when you already have one sticking out like a Yellow Brick
