thinking I need $28500 at least. Carvana would pay $29k right now but there is about a $1700+ tax benefit of trading. Plus I have $500 into it already that I get back if we don't make a deal. Truck will be 60K drive out price.

That's a good offer from Carvana. I'd be super tempted to do it right now.

    Some cliff notes:
    • 24 mpg normal driving (Yay!)
    • 12 mpg while towing (similar to the 3rd gen)
    • Needs more power! while towing uphill (similar to the 3rd gen)
    • 17 gal tank (similar to the 1st gen, 150 miles per tank while towing) :notsure:

What happened to the crazy tq? I guess needs the hybrid and another $3200+ for that.

The torque is there, but accelerating while towing at speed or pulling hills is a function of power, which is almost the same as the 3g

What's the 6G 4Runner going to weigh another 600-1000 pounds? The 2.4 hybrid or the 3.5 from the GX will be needed to get it moving.

IDK about the hybrid with it's very high torque numbers that hasn't been confirmed by any real world test I've seen, but a turbo 4 is still only going to tow like a 4cyl.

Apparently it tows at speed roughly like a v6 with similar power, which you should expect if you understand torque and horespower

    Roughly?

That trailer is on AT tires and sits up high, not the best trailer for decent mpgs.

More of a on road friendly trailer would net better mpgs. and the t4 is going to pull a load like a 4cyl, Toyota will offer the hybrid because they are well aware of that.

The turbo 4 will pull roughly as well as the v6 it replaces at speed and up hill. But far better elsewhere

With increased fuel consumption and wear and tear on the turbo charging components. Look how bad the fuel economy was on TFL test of the 2.7 t4 Silverado. There's more low end torque from a small displacement t4 than a V6 but it won't pull a load like a v6. That OR trailer isn't even the max tow weigh for the t4 Tacoma.

They are not bad and do heat up to the point where you have to turn them down or off and the same goes for the steering wheel. Haven't really tested the ventilated seats yet since it's cold out. The heat is better than my Lexus and Chevrolet with heated seats.
