Anyone ever use cerakote as coatings for control arms, really anything etc. trying to choose a strong coating. It's either that or powdercoat.

Unless welding on it, I really don't think steel it is worth it as far as being durable.

I have not. $35 a can seems ridiculous. Mostly wondering because I have wicked Creations 3.5" LT and the salt on the roads have eaten through the paint and it's already rusty. Trying to stay away from rattle can

I'd look up a highly rated PC / Cerakote location. It's a lot of work, but you could prep and prime your parts with a 2k primer, base coat, and 2k clear and it would hold up a lot better than what they put on.

That sounds like a good idea. I have a very popular cerakote and different powdercoat place, both about 30 miles away from me.

If you're going through with it, it would be the best time to put cam tab / spindle / uca gussets as well. Even if you'd need a mobile welder or friend to come do the final welding, you could do all the prep.

Yeah for sure. I've learned in the past to do everything at once lol. The only part I'm missing is a buddy that I can trust welding my shit haha

so super shitty nozzle design than, wonder if its a similar style to something else with a better nozzle you could steel from... yeah i like steel it but it has its purposes...putting it on something thats not gonna last anyways is a waste...i remember thinking i should paint my ford 9" housing with it...and glad i didn't since half the thing gets sand blasted as it is....lol

That's a good idea - next time I use it I'll swap one to see if it works. Seymour will most likely not build or self level as well as SI.

exactly why its Krylon for me lol, wire wheel the rust and gunk off best I can, pressure wash, dry with huge shop fan and then paint over whatever needs it. Just like you said everything of mine is sandblasted and has gouges from rocks sliding past them lol everything looked good the day of install though!

I lived in Wisconsin for a good few years and the first winter fucked my truck up lol, drove it back to San Diego the following spring and just let it sit at my parents' house.

Winter is rough. I'm debating getting a daily for next winter and parking my truck in a storage place

When I was still in Wisconsin, I bought myself a 1992 for explorer from a local FF for a thousand bucks, the rocker panels were absolutely wrecked on the driver and passenger side but golly the interior was absolutely immaculate LOL
