I had the knock sensors replaced with genuine OEM parts, none of that knock off cheapo stuff. I also had them test compression, which was excellent.

I genuinely hope you didn't use all that money for that

Just about - the sensor and harness kit was $450, and labor was another 500 or so iirc. The rest went towards the tires.

Tires aren't cheap, that makes sense

You were on dry rotted tires way too long

Tbf KO2s start to dry rot after a year

Wouldn't know, never owned a set. Friends all told me they hated theirs so I went with other brands :burp:

But I also wouldn't make such an assessment if you never owned a set new to experience it yourself.

2 years since my superbowl wiring extravaganza and the trailer wiring adapter seems to have shorted my left turn and tail wire together. Hmph. Time to simplify

He read it on the Internet. Gotta have him stop reading Zane's rants.

I know he dogs them, but if he's used them why not pass his own judgement? So definitely valid.

My friends that own/owned them told me to steer clear, so I always have. But I can't say from personal experience how they handle cause I never owned a set. :burp:

LT KO2s are fine. the E rated KO2s are made of an iron like compound so they hold up under the weight of a fullsize truck and suck

I liked them when I had 'em.

I ran the E rated ones, could take a beating and had plenty of grip across the board and could air them down with plenty of sidewall support that I never worried about popping a bead. Got plenty of miles out of them, no excessive wear. Ran them for years, only issue was they couldn't hold a balance. I know people like to shit on them in the rain but I have yet to have a tire with impressive rain traction on any tire on and vehicle. Would I buy them again? Not sure. I'd probably go with the Nitto's like the van has now, but I don't loathe the KO2s like ol Zane does.

They don't make em anymore, so shouldn't be a concern. They were terrible, and I regretted their purchase every time I drove the truck. Mine didn't have good grip really in anything but snow, even dry pavement they slipped real easy and just like yours they were never in balance. Excessive wear would have been an improvement for those fashion statement tires, they'd have at least been trading rubber for grip. Oh well live and learn.

Where have I been? They stopped making the KO2?

Have you tried Nitto's before? This is my first set and I do like them.

KO3 is out, I dunno maybe they're selling both right now. I've had car Nittos, NT555 and NT05, excellent grip but they're summer tires and only single season wear rating (knew that and purchased on purpose). Awesome if you want to get the most out of a car in summer (1 summer, they'll be worn out in 5-8k mi)

I forgot about Nitto's; I had 555s on my old Bullitt I used to take to Laguna Seca. I had a square setup on that thing lemme look for it...

They seem good when I saw Monte's, I don't have wheels for the sizes they sell. Maybe next time though, they're on my radar.
