That's quite common now days, arouund here they're not so much holes, but open green space you get to support though HOA fees. If you are lucky they dress it up with trees and a walking area for your doggos.
My suggestion would be to follow your plan to keep looking.and if you can find a guy that's thinking about selling land to a developer and build there. It happens there are several new neighborhoods around here popping up that has that one odd house with a bigger yard and a house that doesn't look like the cookie cutter home and it gets excluded from the HOA, and the seller to the developer carves out your first right of. exemption. Sometimes it's the owner of the land that's getting sold. Our area is growing so fast the citys and towns are accessing more and more land in the city limits those horse farms have no choice but to sell for tax reasons. Our town has several land locked spaces for growth. When I was working in a new development, I was at a guys house whos driveway and home was in 1 town and his backyard was in another. He said both his and the neighbors got unlucky that way, Good luck.you will find something.

It’s going to be a great day here! 17* now, but clear skies and going to be sunshine all day. Hopefully hitting 40* today. About 3-4” of snow yesterday, so today will be sidewalk and patio shoveling. Good exercise!
    Have a great day!

    Morning all:

    You think like me Kevin!
When I looked for a home it was either a new home similar to what you are describing, or an older home with land and some privacy, I chose the privacy and am not sorry that I did, plenty of room to do pretty well whatever I want. Keep looking, there's something out there that will suit both you and the wife.

Good morning all. Been trying to stretch a lot more than I had been and it's helping. Worst part is when I first get out of bed in the morning. Feel far older than my 61 years and can barely move at first.

We have a new business in town that opened a few months back, looks interesting. I usually get my 5 stretches in every morning. When I get my clothes on. I always put my stuff in the same spot. :rofl:on the floor.

Hey... I have a radical thought....

    QUIT HAVING SO MANY KIDS!!!

Jeezuz... Every major problem on the planet at this point weasels down to being due to too many people on the planet. And OMG, what a radical thought.... have fewer kids.

:pccoffee:  sixtys/wannabes/footballers. I'm with @ImpulseRed008 personally -- can't wait for all of the noise to subside and the smoke to clear. I don't give a tinkers' damn about the game.

The Georgia trip was great fun, and I got to burn off a bunch of my craving for roadtripping. Discovered just how good the brakes are on the Porsche when I crested a rise in George Washington National Forest one morning to discover papa deer standing in the middle of the road! The car stopped dead before my brain fully processed that I had hit the brakes. It didn't even skid. Mama and fawn followed dad across the road, and I was safely -- and luckily -- underway once more. Whew. The only closer encounters I've had with bambis have been hits.

This house is located just off a private airstrip about 5 miles from our house.

A little something every chance we get.
:notsure: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Well, lots of rumblings and threats yesterday and last night, but all told we ended up with a tenth. Better than a poke in the eye, with a sharp stick. Class was very "pilot-centric"; tons of very specific stuff that would be useful if I ever piloted a Beech 18 (C-45). One of only 2 non-pilots in there - didn't think I'd do to well on the test. But then, they didn't hand out enough, and I got shorted. I left to try and find a copy, but that was all that was printed. So I come back to sit through it - it's "class answer & discuss", and I shouted out several answers and found I could have easily passed the rest. Oh well, I have my own little room with a big ugly motor.
Quick errand early, do nothing and watch the game. I'm wearing a red shirt!

    Happy "big game" day!
Rooting for the Niners for two reasons. The QB is solid in his beliefs, and the GM is a former Buccaneer. John Lynch...ohhhhh man I witnessed his ferocity first hand in the stands of the Sombrero and Ray Jay. Good man, too!

Since I was born and raised in the Bay Areae I’m a 49er guy. I’m not enthusiastic and in reality I don’t really follow pro sports much anymore, or at least very little. (I still like watching hockey especially in person). Too many of the players in various pro sports have become wealthy aholes. The teams themselves and management have become aholes too. I’ll leave it up to you as to why I think they are aholes.
When I was a young boy I use to go see the Oakland Raiders in person before the Oakland coliseum was built. They played at Laney junior college football field in Oakland for a couple years. Tickets were cheap, the players were friendly and approachable. Use to be able to go up to the players before and after games, talk to them and get autographes. The games were fun and not as technical. The players weren’t aloof. I remember meeting numerous players but my 2 favorites were Ben Davidson and Tom Keating and getting autographs. It was one of the highlights of my life. The players and organizations have completely changed now a days and not for the good.
So I’ll watch some of the superbowl but not with great enthusiasm like I once had. I actually like college sports better than pro and watch them occasionally.
Happy Sunday all, enjoy the game.
