Gotta set the pressures right. Granted I never ran them with a stock weight truck, I was 5kish which certainly helped.

Just the once so far, but most of the Land Cruisers I talk about trading for have them as well. I just don't understand why they’re so popular, especially since they’re the most expensive AT out there.

I don’t think E-rated tires in general are well suited to these trucks unless you add a lot of weight in bumpers, armor, etc.

Mine were on the 100, maybe that weight helped, but based on my time with them I'd try it again if I ever got the urge, but the Coopers have been good.

I wouldn’t get another set for my truck. Just my preference. It seems like most MTs are C rated anyway.

Agree to disagree. All depends on how you expect the truck to work with how you use it. Think of it this way, the E rated tire has a stiffer sidewall yeah? So if you hit a big rock/hole at speed, the e-rated tire will deform less and take the hot a lot better than a softer C rated tires. On the flip side, if you're doing crawly things, the C rated makes more sense as it will more easily form and flex around rocks and terrain at slow speed. Make sense? I was usually moving fast so the e rated was the safer bet.
Weight certainly helps. The van is hard to unstick in all terrain types, each one of my tires is carrying the load of a stock single cab taco. That's a lot of friction.

Haven't done coopers, never seen anything to me that made me feel the desire to try them.

You need a street tire; they'll last longer on the roads you most travel on thus increasing your time spent here speculating and less time spent replacing tires

Didn't it take a couple months for him to get tires last time? Guess he should probably start thinking about them now

Took him about a year of complaining about his newly acquired truck, as the regret immediately sunk in after having traded his 80 series sight unseen

Drove for about a year on the dry rotted tires the truck came with

Gah that is a lot of weight with the van. Certainly a tradeoff, you do get a lot out of one.

Re: Coopers. I run 235s on the truck and their AT3 was one of the mellower AT tires, which is what I was looking for at the time. No complaints, but as they age they're starting to get loud. Not sure what I'll try next.

On the scales I've got 4k on the front axle and 6k on the rear. Still getting used to that much weight in the dirt. Even though I shaved 250# out of it this fall it didn't make a noticeable difference.
