I think the 2024s look good and am really curious to see how they hold up over time.
With that said, there's no way I'd buy a first model year of ANY car. I'd wait a year to let them get some of the bugs worked out and for the aftermarket industry to get caught up. I wouldn't think your current truck would lose much value in that year.

It is the most comfortable truck I have owned. Even my wife comments on how nice it rides. Dunno, feel like it was made for me. Glancing at the 4G, they might of screwed that up. Looks more like a F150 seating position, which I don’t care for, it is like sitting on a stool. One of things that keeps me from buying a Ford. Ergonomics are a bit off.

Are you my twin that I don’t know about haha.

I’ve always said to everyone that 3G is a perfect truck for me. Rear legroom is my only complaint really.

Neighbor down the street from me got a brand new offroad version nissan frontier. It looks like the dollar general version of my Tacoma.

    Yeah…

I see tons of 2G/3G Tacomas daily anytime I get out. Maaaaybe 1-2 frontiers a day. Tacoma definitely dominates mid size truck game where I’m at.

    No rush.

My ‘16 had all sorts of 1st year issues, mostly sorted out by my ‘18, and completely bullet-proofed in ‘23. I like the ‘24, but am already 100% comfortable with Gen3, so no desire to pay a lot more money for power seats, and beta test an all-new design.

Drive a new one, and if you do want to buy, at least wait until GM/Ford/Toyota flood the market with midsize trucks later this year before trying to negotiate.

I know, right!? Have thought the same. Ha!

I don’t carry passengers for only maybe 2 twice a year, non issue for me! Once they ride in my AC, don’t get asked to play taxi ever again. :) ;) That is my biggest complaint about the 4G, the loss of the AC. And I have been loud about it. :D  :p

For the most part the rear seats are for my dog. But I do like to have a DC option when family comes over to visit or I’m taking buddies camping. Plus, I would like a kid or two. I’m in my mid thirties so it’s time :)

One of the main guys I camp with, we’ll take my truck to run around FS roads since it rides better than his F350. And occasionally car pool, was looking at the double/crew cabs, but if I am honest with myself it isn’t really needed.

1st one came along at 40. Second 47. Don't wait much longer. :) Actually thought 1 was enough. Wife is 8 years younger than me tho. She said she did't want our 1st to be an only child. All good! 2 healthy happy kids. Well, one is starting University and the other is in grade 5. o_O And the the 3rd gen DCLB still works for us!

That’s awesome man! I’m glad to hear the back seats are adequate for your family.

My wife is a year older than me so it’s definitely timmmeeeee! :-D

    That’s another story…

Who TF designed the cyber truck?! What were they trying to accomplish? :)

Pretty much! 95% of the time it is only me. We aren’t going to have any kids, the world definitely doesn’t need another one of me running around. Lol!

Baby/car seats could be another issue tho. Went from a 2003 Pathfinder to the 2020 Taco just when the youngest moved to a booster. So much better with just the booster. Good luck!

If my eyes were wandering it wouldn't be at a 24 Tacoma.

Aaah yes yes, so I heard. Well it might not be super comfortable for first little while but I’m sure we will make it work. We went through much worse :)

I’m not getting rid of my Tacoma. Never! One can pry it from my dead cold hands :)
