I am planning modifications to my newly acquired 2014 Access-Cab with seats.

I find the console box unnecessarily fills space and is a target for thieves if unsecured.

I would rather in this order of preference:
    1. Remove it and allow my dog to sit comfortably between the front seats.
    2. Console Safe, please suggest another that is half the price.
    3. Other alternatives are most welcome!

Thank you, I am most appreciative.

Rear seat delete (RSD), actually a 2/3 RSD. Mine is a DC but you can DIY an AC RSD.

    With platform up.

if you’re looking for a dog to sit there it might be possible to convert to bench seat

    otherwise yes there are lockboxes
Hooke Rd has one that is cheaper but the quality reflects that

I don’t know what’s better combination lock or keyed. Using a combo digit every time would get annoying. It has its place for bed cubbies to leave keys when you need to but that’s a different use case.

the armrest could potentially be removed or cut off from the console and a platform made.

Your dog should be harnessed and buckled to the anchor point in the back seat. Ever see what an unsecured dog looks like in a collision?
