(Thanks in advance to whoever's picture I borrowed to illustrate this...:D)

Anybody ever have to "unstick" their sunglasses compartment???? It's supposed to be one of those push it to open things, but.... I just bought the truck and can't get it open...

Thought before I F-it up with a screw driver, I'd solicit advice.

    2017 Tacoma OR 4x4 (formerly a 1998 SR5 PU, 2002 OR 4x4, 1995 4x4 4Runner, 1985 4x4 Toy PU) ... and RIP’s (rust in pieces) to a Bronco II 4x4 & S10 Blazer 4x4
You could pull that whole unit out with your hands - first pull the front part, and then the back and get access to it from behind- it takes a bit of effort but the clips will let go when you pull it downwards. Don’t use a tool, just your fingers.

Thanks for the tip! I tried as you suggested.. and didn't get anywhere. But I did fiddle with it enough to determine the previous owner had left a set of wire framed sunglasses in there and I was able to get a metal paint scrapper in there to move those outta the way and the door popped open with some slight persuasion...

@STOCKTRD After watching the video you posted, I guess I was being too shy about yanking down on the panel... Now I'll be informed ! and at the risk of jacking my own thread:rofl:
can someone put me onto where to get those brighter LED lights that guy is installing in that video? the stock ones are ridiculously dim!

I quit putting sunglasses in mine -- they got stuck up in there twice. The first time I figured was a fluke, but twice in 1 week convinced me.

I agree @OkieTom.. The rattle was driving me crazy (the good news was that it was the only rattle I heard on the new truck while offroad this weekend). Now that I got those crappy sunglasses out I expect a less distracting ride....

My oakley sutros fit in mine fine, and they are huge. Put them in with the lense facing out never had any issues.
