@TYetti I know this is an old post. I’m really regretting not buying 33s. I have a 2 inch lift. My gf has a 2001 4 runner with 33s and I’m having a hard time seeing how the 33s wouldn’t fit. Would it be just some basic trimming or would welding be required?

What motor is in the 01 4runner?
    I forget the 4runner generations.

My point is, that 4runner might not be so similar to your Tacoma.

A 2nd gen taco with a 3in lift will have problems with 33's unless they are skinnies.

To get 33"s right in the taco, requires a "custom" upper control arms or cutting into the cab mount which is part of the frame...

I went with the $1500 pair of uca to fit my 33's properly, full steering and complete suspension travel.

What about 33s skinnies on a two inch lift? 09 Tacoma. Apparently 3rd gen’s can fit on stock suspension

Did you end up doing it? I'm planning on mounting a set of scs ray 10's with 285/70r17 k02's. 17x9 -38 offset. I'm getting cmc and some trimming Wednesday.
