^See yours is going to get better mileage too, because it's an Xrunner and a lot closer to the ground.

Thats what I always thought too. But it's a trade off. I get better gas milage on the highways because of alot less wind resistance. The Xr's are lowered 1.5" from stock plus a good 3-4" body kit added.

But city driving we actually get worse because our super wide racing slicks have a lot more rolling resistance :D but I drive highways alot so I don't mind. but the milage drops like a rock when she's pinned at 220... top speed so far... in mexico...

That's some crazy gas prices! I used to live in Northern BC and Northernish Alberta...couldn't believe I was paying that for gas when all the well heads were around me everywhere?..lol

Well took the truck in to the dealer yesterday for The gas issue, steering clunk/knock, rubber rock guard coming off, blower motor tick, broken mud flat and lose passanger seat.

I've got a new blower motor coming and new rock guard...(Thats it). As far as the gas, the dude said, yeah, it's not good mileage but it's within range. They took it for a test drive, hooked it up to the computer, and it did not read anything improper. Then he just kinda shrugged and said it sucks but he can't do anything. I want to give him the truck and tell him to drive it around for a couple weeks and then let me know what the computer says..lol.

I'm at a loss, can't afford driving it.

    Whiteynut,

The Manuals do get crappier mileage these days, 1 to 2mpg difference. Two reasons as I've read, something to do with emitions, you actually notice when you press the clutch in and take you foot off the gas, the rpm actually stays high, it doesn't drop as you let your foot off the gas.

The other is that it is geared differently, can't recall the specs right now. If i want to keep my rpm below 2500 or around 2000, the fastest I could go on the highway might be 100km/hr in 6th gear! If I'm doing 110km/hr i'm easily at 2500rpm in 6th. For me to shift to much below 2000rpm it lugs, so can only do that if it's flat. I can be driving 60km/hr in town and in 4th gear, maybe even 5! Trust me I've been trying to do that to save gas cash. I've always ran manuals, but this time i should have gone to the auto, this isn't a great transmittion.

When was the last time you had the Spark Plugs changed?
I got a big increase in MPG when i changed mine, and i did it 16,000km before the suggested time.

Thats good to know. I'm getting the plugs changed tomorrow and swapping to Synthetic Oil. Glad to hear it's a good investment.

You're probably burning more gas trying to avoid all the pot holes that the Sudbury fine roads have to offer. Man I don't miss them.
