No money, all went to truck...
I can't imagine having peak HP at 1700 rpm. That's crazy.

Nice man! I’m glad you are enjoying your truck! Looks are subjective and you are a 100% right about that.

My truck accelerates 0-60 in about cool 7 secs so she is not a hot turd at all.;)

3rd Gen Moaners, I mean Owners, have taken over the position from 2nd Genners.

Look at it realistically, what does the 4th gen do better than the 3rd gen that justifies the significant price increase?

    It doesnt tow any more
    It doesnt carry any more
Its MPG is barely marginally better but has a smaller gas tank
Brand new powertrain so rolling the dice on that
    Improved interior

For the actual truck things you get a truck for its the same as before aside from the styling, just more expensive.

Multi-link rear suspension - no more leaf springs. Disk brakes all the way around. Better seating position. Better infotainment system. A modern looking interior. A boxed frame. A snappy drivetrain that doesn't feel like a turd.

Don't worry bro your 3rd gen is still a good truck, it's just last gen, and you can't comparison post that away.

They are available, at least in Canada on certain models. I’ve been wanting a heated wiper area since I first saw them on my old neighbours Subaru about 15 years ago.

4Runner has them. Even a heating element on the drivers side vertical edge to melt snow pushed over by the wipers.

Every thread here gets junk and 1 or 2 others that just complain about anything. They think there 3rd Gen is the perfect truck for them. You point out that the 4th Gen does just about everything the same or better and somehow it's the worst truck ever.

As for the outrageous price increase, none of them can understand inflation. You can show them that the 4g is only about 10% more after inflation adjustments and they think that's millions of dollars.

People ask legit questions or want feedback and junk comes in to derail the conversation. Reminds me of the middle school kid that just wants there opinion to be heard regardless of if anyone asked or if it's even in topic. Kinda sad.

sad to see the 4th gen having the same quality control issues the 3rd gen has had. The cowl shouldn't look like that on a 50k truck.

I'm all about test driving the 4cy turbo. The 3.5 is such a slug down low.

Really should compare pricing from 2023 to 2024. My OR was 40K in November 2023. Pretty steep increase for one year. Im Likely sticking with my 2023 but the boxed frame, longer wheelbase, tow mode, and better seat have me interested.

Yeah the 10% thing may be for low trims. For me to get the same truck I have now, that hike is more like 20%, maybe more, even taking in to account the $500 USD hike for MY23. That’s not insignificant.

If I didn’t listen to people here and snap up a 3G MT thinking that was it, I would probably go 4G; but I listened to strangers on the internet and got what I deserved (not that that is that bad). The 4G is likely the better truck, but to me, not worth the hike plus the 2 years of depreciation (even if it’s just “Tacoma” depreciation levels).

Gen4 being a better overall truck and also being too expensive are not mutually exclusive ideas. In fact, it is both. Bookmark that perspective though, because like all prior Gen’s, the new truck will inevitably have its own unique set of issues. Time will tell, and I’d personally prefer not to work those issues out together with the service dept.

Few things cause greater contempt (justified or not) than a massive single-year price increase. Gen3 was already a proven, handsome truck, so most current owners are justifiably put off by the pricing. Bashing Gen3 to justify overpaying, and inflation lectures do little to alleviate those hard feelings. But in time, the truck’s actual merits, combined with future discounts could. I’m bullish on Gen4.

4g costs ~10% more after inflation. It’s definitely >10% better all around. Toyota take my money please

I'm glad to check the numbers, what options do you have on your 22 MT OR? And what was MSRP?
