Um.... because truck needs to provide power when I need it to? Are you one of those people who uses his truck to just go grocery shopping?

No. I use my truck as a truck all the time but I still want it to get decent mpgs. The reason I would never buy a 2nd gen tundra and get 13 mpg highway.

Under-performs at what exactly? You surely are not talking about the truck that has 52 ft-lbs more torque and higher MPG than the outgoing model.

I doubt you do... Because you would feel massive difference between 2nd gen V8 and 3rd gen Tundra V6 uphill towing or fully loaded.

Same for Taco too, that V6 might be weakened and crippled down thanks to emission laws but it is still a V6 that will pull and carry way better than 4cyl race car turbo. Now if you just go like off road i guess it wouldn't matter as long as you don't need to pull someone out, or get stuck, then V6 would help with that.

Lol, please don't tell me you believe the non sense they tell customers . THIS IS MUCH BETTER, MORE POWER! lol please, they are down sizing engines because of emission laws, making trucks weaker and weaker. Why do you think American trucks keep the big engines, while Tundra got its watered down V6? Because product needs to be transported, infrastructure needs to be build, that's what REAL trucks are used for, with BIG engines, not turbo bs that ramps up high rpms choking to pull.

But do your do man, I am going to keep my V6. Good luck with your 4cyl prius that costs like 20K more .

Did everyone in WV area runout and get a new 4th gen lol? I think 90% of the feedback I have read is from that area.

Half ton American trucks get the same or better than a Tacoma. I’ve had a F-150 Tremor that averaged 20.2 compared grazing 19 in my Tacoma. A Hemi Dodge maybe, but even my dads 6.2 Sierra averages 21 mpg.

My 2013 lifted on 35's averages ~18 MPG.......

What a joke the 4th gen MPG is, how does the Ford 5.0 V8 get nearly the same?

Jesus these forms are like a middle school lunch table.

Someone asks a legit question. The obnoxious self entitled kids come over derailing the conversation with "my dad could beat up your dad" because they think everyone wants to know their opinion about something no one asked about.

    FFS stay on topic.

I don’t believe you. My tires are roughly 32” and no lift and my truck struggles to get 16-17mpg.

Oh I’m sorry let me go get my log book out for you, where I captured every speed limit sign over the past 4 days on various highways I’ve encountered.

Just joking range of 55-70. Like I said generally about 6% over unless going through various stretches that are known speed traps.
