I know, read the manual, but I'm sitting here in front to the computer. I have a maintenance light that has come on at like 25.2k. That seems like a very odd mileage. I assume someone here with more miles on the truck that I knows what is up. I assume this is a "take it to the dealer" light? Thanks

Probably time for an oil change.

In your case, yes, just take it to the dealer.

    Let the guessing games begin.

The maintenance light is on an interval (I think 5k miles?). Every time the light is reset, the interval starts over and it will illuminate again in another 5k (I think) miles. Doesn't necessarily mean your truck needs anything, its just a reminder that it probably does (like rotate tires/oil change).

It's the Toyota engineers way of letting you know on the lowdown you should really change your oil every 5K.
Don't wait for 10K, this is your sign.

Light came on a couple days ago at 23,8. I thought the same thing, so called the dealer, they told me it was a tire rotation. I must’ve done the last dealer service on the calendar time and got the mileage off. Hopefully nothing to worry about.

This. I've changed the oil every 5k but did go over one time. I would have assumed these were preset at a mileage.

Press and hold the trip meter button - Turn the ignition on (key or button) - you will see dashes across the milage screen - with the button still pressed - they will disappear one at a time. When all are gone - you will be good to go. Then do whatever you feel is needed.

The real treat is having that maintenance reminder come up when you are on a busy interstate. The complete center dash lights up and blocks everything else out. And does not go away !! It kinda makes you panic for no important reason. The only way I knew how to remove it was to pull over and do the reset. I don't think it was properly thought through by Toyota to do that to someone one over an oil change or tire rotation. I really got worried that something major was going on !!

My 2007 Corolla did that ... 500 before the interval blink, then steady on. And I learned that "maintenance required" is "maintenance" instead "Danger Will Robinson!". My Corolla gave me a "check engine soon" light when a major gasket started leaking.

if it’s just the “maintenance required” warning you can just hit the “back” button on the steering wheel and it goes away immediately off the center screen, leaving just the maintenance light.

source: did this about 2 days ago when my 5k maintenance warning came up.

Maybe I missed that button, cause I tried everything at 75 mph, in traffic. Stupid reason to pull off the highway, but it drove me nuts !! I'll remember that trick and hope it picks a better time to block out my gauges. Even though you still have the dial gauges - it still gets you in panic mode.
