Just did this a few months back & posted it over in the tractor thread.....

Had a "bad" propane company for years. Over charged us & then started a rental fee that we didn't agree to after 8 years of service!
So we canceled them. Told them to come get their tank & credit us the near 500gallons in the tank.

Guess what? Now days they charge a recovery fee because the tanks have to be transported empty! It was .50 per gallon! $225
THEN a removal fee for the 2 guys & a truck that was $150!
And someone had to be home to witness that they didn't tear up yard or any damage & grant access.

So it ended up costing me $375 plus our time to get rid of an outfit that was ripping us off to start with & had lousy customer service!
Most people who can afford to swap are changing companies.... But they have lots of others trapped that cant afford to change.
M@dderfkers like that deserve to go out of business. Evidently this is the new norm in propane outfits.

Needless to say I found & purchased a couple of tanks & now have the outfit right next door to them supply me. They are cheaper, show up with in 24hrs of your call & are a local owned shop! No rent, no fees, no minimum usage reqs.......

Moral of the story: be careful making a change in this type of stuff & no the hidden costs!

 

I received an email from the gas company:

After reviewing your account, we will be happy to keep the monitor in place at no charge. Again, I apologize for the run out. I believe the monitor will add an additional layer of protection and help to prevent future issues.

I already emailed the company that services my house on a price to switch to them. The new company handles the entire changeover when the current tank runs low.

I’m just full of piss and vinegar today.

Still dealing with trying to get my credit from the mail away pharmacy to no avail. Countless calls and messages just to be put on hold for hours; literally hours. So what does Paul do today? After much searching he finds the email to the CEO for the mail away pharmacy and sends him a note about the customer service. He actually responds and cc’s someone else instructing them to contact me today…
