Looking for a good alarm system for my 2004 Tacoma don't want to spend over a hundred dollars, just a basic motion type alarm that's loud enough to hear if I'm indoors

your '04 should have the factory RS3200 system already installed (if you have electric locking doors), just not "activated" if you buy a toyota security light + microphone, compatible remote (aftermarket works fine) and do some very simple modification to the wire harness (unplug ONE wire), you will have a pretty darn good alarm system that you can tune to your satisfaction (hard or easy to set off) for $40 or so

I know I’ve seen the wiring explanation but in that TW post that shows the harness unplugged the link to CustomTacos is broken.

I have an 04 with the RS3200 and I was able to source an OEM glass break sensor.

    Just looking to complete everything.

correct you unplug the ground to activate the alarm, its bundled in the RS3200 harness under the steering column, its a 1 pin connector.

the OEM GBS come in 3 or 4 variants that all work, (camry, avalon, land cruiser, etc) , just the print on the face plate is different and the mic/light have 2x2 pin or 1x4pin, relatively recently someone posted the wiring for 2x2 to 1x4, I don't have time to dig for it today, plz search

Edit, I searched. this thread has it all
