For sure one thing I notice and probably why I have some better numbers is I do not do excessive accelerations, once it reaches cruising speeds turbo barely engages.

I’ve owned Raptors and high end F250’s exclusively for the last decade, mpg is important to me in this truck.

    Call me crazy….

I don't know what to tell you but that's the real number. Right around the 17.5 - 18.5mpg a tank depending on other conditions. I drive ~67 on the highway and don't ever accelerate hard at all.

If I was getting 16MPG i would ditch the POS and get a full size that would get better MPG.

I’m interested if it will improve a little more once broken in

Just for clarity, I was responding to another user regarding the MPG for my 4.0 being on 35's, not a 4th gen Taco. My truck is broken in enough lol.

I'm getting 14mpg because I'm always in sport mode with my foot in it.

On the 4Gs, it is really interesting to see the wide range of values. TFL and couple others got 23-24 MPG. Others are getting 14-17 MPG, with a few in the middle. Those are all on stock tires and no other mods.

Whoops, I actually meant to quote the user talking about his new 4th gen.

You really need a lot of data to start getting an idea of MPG. There are so many factors on a vehicle only getting 19-24 mpg:
    City/traffic driving vs open country
Terrain - it doesn't take much to make a difference:
    Straight roads vs curvy
Tire style, tread, and condition of tire
    Alignment
    Weather - wet vs dry
    Temperatures
Wind - head wind vs tail wind
    Winter vs Summer gas formulation
    Driving style
I routinely drive 130 miles on an east west route on very flat, straight two lane 55 mph speed limit country roads. Theres some stop signs. Maybe some passing. I go 63-70 mph. I routinely get 23-24 mph one way and 21-22 the other in stable comparable weather. Thats just because of a slight variance in terrain and wind direction. You need a ton of data to determine mpg.

That’s why you need hundreds of people reporting on a site like Fuelly.com with their phone app, over the course of a year. It becomes a decent general view.

Right. Its gonna be quite a while until you have 2024 data in that volume.

Until then, we’ll see some wide variances due to all the variables you mentioned.

Just curious, have you done an odometer offset for the tire size difference from stock?

I have not. I'm not sure how my odometer works. It is stock from the factory so I'd presume that the speedometer and odometer are set to the off road trim.

Have you tested the accuracy of the speedometer with a GPS on the 2024? 3rd gens were almost 5mph fast at 75 mph in stock configuration vs a GPS reading.

    I have not. According to Waze it's +/- 3mph

Was your previous truck a 4 cylinder?

Anyone tried towing anything around 3500 lbs on the freeway yet?
