spark plugs

What size are the spark plugs for the V-6 engine??? Looking to buy a magnetic spark plug socket set and want to make sure I get the right size.

That’s correct and that tool makes it a lot easier. Just take your time and be patient especially on the drivers side.

Why not get a locking extension with a spark plug socket. You don’t need magnetic.

 

That’s an all in 1 it has the spark plug sock and thin wall and magnetic .

Got yea, didn’t know he wanted a dedicated spark plug extension combo. A locking extension is more versatile that’s why I suggested it.

If you’re referring to my comment, it has nothing to do with 2nd gen. Its experience from working in the automotive field troll. It’s a more versatile tool.

 

PacoDevo I’m sure the magnetic one pc extention is fine, in my day we called it the one trick pony dedicated to doing only one thing but the locking extensions are nice also. You are able to do more with them. I don’t know your mechanical skills or what your tool collection consists of, but as a retired mechanic 40 years on my own a about 16 at a dealer when I was younger I would never have purchased the magnetic one. For an dyi’er it’s good you’re only working on one type of vehicle. The locking one comes in a 3 set of different lengths, you can google them or most definitely Amazon local auto shop or even Harbor Freight. I like the thumb release ones. Sorry for the long post just my 2 cents. A lot of good info on this post and one unnecessary comment. Whatever you do just take your time, the drivers side rear is the worst one.

 

OK guys, not trying to get arguments going. I read somewhere on here that a magnetic socket would keep the plug from falling out - that is all, and why I am considering them. I was looking at an Eastwood 3 piece swivel set (~ $40 on Amazon) 9/16, 5/8, and 13/16 sizes. Wanted to make sure the correct size was included.

I guess I wasn't clear in my comments/questions and for that I APOLOGIZE!!!

Not necessarily looking for the locking extensions, but who knows, maybe someday???
