Hey y'all. Came across these today. Anyone tried them? Is it really this simple? I'm trying to see if it's possible to upgrade my 2021 Tacoma SR with stock halogens to LEDs. I've linked the install video, the high beam product link, and the low beam product link.

Replacing bulbs only? No. Read the first post of that thread.

Replace with Toyota OEM LED headlight assemblies? Yes, possible. @Puppypunter makes harnesses for connecting SR (no LED yet) to LED.

They're not just replacing bulbs in the video I linked. It's a harness as well. Isnt it?

Halogen assemblies reflect halogen bulbs. LED bulbs in halogen assemblies reflect badly ... read the referenced thread.

If you want LED, get properly designed LED headlight assemblies.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the clarification. Sounds like if you want to upgrade to LEDs then you better prepare to just buy a whole new set of headlights.

Yerpers. Taillights and license plate lights are a little different ... bulbs only can be replaced. But they are not as reliant on the "focal point" as headlights.

Roger that, thanks for the help! Sounds like I'll just stick to bulb replacements for now. There's too many other upgrades I'd rather spend the cash on than different headlight assemblies!

If you replace the H11 bulbs with H9 halogen bulbs (remove the green insert in the OEM plugs) you will get better light and keep the focal point.

Gotcha, but you'll be sacrificing bulb lifespan then, right?

The bulbs I purchased at NAPA (BP1265/H9-N) only cost $16 each. Sylvania Ultraglow supermaster thingies cost $40 each sometimes. At that cost I do not mind replacing each year.
