    Hello all,

    I drive a 2020 Off Road Tacoma - 37,000 miles
It has a 3 inch lift and 33 inch tires.

About a few weeks ago I started to feel a pulsing vibration coming from what feels like the front side of the truck and it usually starts around 20mph. It at times feels like it is a stronger vibration and other times it is more quiet, it is unfortunately inconsistent.
As a result, I have tried getting the wheels balanced, car re-aligned, cambers aligned, toe alignment and steer head alignment.

The truck does not struggle to accelerate or break at all or just struggle to drive in general, it is that pulsing vibration I am more focused on.

    Maybe a carrier bearing?
    CV joint?

Any thoughts or advice on what it could be is greatly appreciated!

Look up ECGS bushing… I’d bet $$ that’s what you need to do. I had a similar issue and that was it.

Put it in 4WD. if the vibration goes away you need to replace the needle bearing on the drivers side front diff. plenty of information about it on this forum. As said above, ECGS makes a replacement bushing.

I just perused through the thread above. Good stuff.
What about a lift causes premature bushing failure? Assuming the lift was done correctly.

angle of the shaft entering the bearing from what I understand. The steeper the angle the more pressure it is going to produce, causing a failure on an inherently weak part to begin with.

I appreciate the advice! I want to make sure that I have the right stuff:

I'm also guessing the removal tool and install tool are a must for this replacement?

that stuff looks right. You might not NEED the tools, but it will make it a lot easier….

Be sure to check it in 4WD first before you start ordering parts like mentioned above.

If you're buying the tools from ECGS directly why not buy the bushing and seal from them also. It is actually cheaper than from Off Road Elements.

Ah so this is an example of a manufacturer saving a solid 60¢ per bearing which adds up to a couple of million at the end of the year.
And the replacement bearings are a better quality and don't fail as fast.

There isn’t an issue until a lift is installed, or some miles after installation.

The bearing isn’t replaced with another bearing. It’s replaced with a solid bushing.

    How does that impact wear?
